I can't say I'm surprised after this weekend, they were horrible. It seems he just can't get them to play for him.
This would surely spell the end to his coaching career, at least in the NRL

About time. He has been their weakest link for some time. Tomkins must be wondering what the **** he's gotten himself into.

EDIT: Posted this on LU Dexter, so if you're a member over there, I apologize.

Hardly surprising, been shocked it hasn't happened earlier. Elliott is a terrible coach, he actually makes griffin look ok

Do they even need a coach, most of the time they don't even bother turning up and when they do they look like worldbeaters.

I thought Cartwright would have been the first to go. It's no surprise that Elliot is gone. He is useless.

Something tells me Warriors should not have let go of Cleary.

I'm much more interested in seeing who they replace him with. All the coaches that they need in order to turn things around have zero desire to go to New Zealand.

Unsurprising. Now....who gets the job? There have been whispers for about a month or so that the Warriors were investigating Super League coaches. Neil Henry and Brian Smith, I would assume, would be handing over their credentials as well.

Edit: Lol, Ninja'd by Maroon.

If Warriors never want to win a premiership than Brian Smith would be the perfect option for the job.

Is it too much to hope Stephen Kearney sticks his hand up?

God I would love for Kearney to go the Warriors, it makes sense on everyones behalf.

And honestly I don't think Matt Elliot is entirely to blame for the Warriors performances, I think you'll find the players are mostly to blame.

No matter who coaches the Warriors they almost always perform inconsistently and struggle to perform to their best. They have a talented roster but they can't seem to gel together on a weekly basis.

Elliot won't be much of a loss I'm yet to meet someone who rates his coaching.

Coach and squad are both to blame for sure, but he really is a shit coach.

Andrew McFadden set to be named as caretaker

I never understood Elliott's appointment in the first place. Sure, he had experience but by and large he was a mediocre coach and his style of play didn't seem to resonate well with the Warriors.

I reckon they need to take a punt on somebody. Perhaps Ackland, but I'd rather see them recruit somebody from outside of the system.

The talk of a coach from Super League would fit that bill. Maybe even the coach of Wigan to make Tomkins feel more comfortable.

From memory, I actually think that's the coach they were talking about.

That would be Shaun Wane.

Not a bad nominee, he did coach the Warriors to an ESL premiership after all but I just wonder how effective his style of coaching would be over here in the NRL.

Let's not forget, Madge did provide him a nice base to work off of.
