I just wish we’d bought Maloney when he left Cronulla.
He would have been a perfect fit until one of our young blokes was ready to come through.
He was after $1m per season and sharks also traded him for Moylan.

I don't think we were in a position to offer him that kind of coin and also give up a decent player (maybe Milf) to make it all work

I think QLD need a specialist dummy half.

Ben Hunt did his best but with a player like him you have to take the good with the bad.

Hopefully, Turpin can kick on and really establish himself.

It's not the only problem. The selectors also let us down in some cases. Picking Napa with a broken wrist in Game II, for example. Not sure what the thinking was there.

We've still got Friend, who probably still has at least 3 years in him. And then we hope guys like Mahoney, Turpin, Grant, or maybe some other rookie turns out to be a consistent gun.

Should be friend for at least a few year, I also agree Turpin has at least the defensive side to play origin level hopefully he rounds out other aspects of his game, Mahoney looks a talent also.

Mccullough is Turpin greatest obstacle to the broncos 9 and the qld 9. What I mean is once he gets the broncos jersey he will get the qld Jersey if he maintains anywhere near the form he has shown so far. The sad thing is, not through talent or proven ability, but through a sense of loyalty

Yeah only because we are stuck with him, I’m talking about once we get rid of him or he leaves.
You’d have to be on crack to want Darius in the halves
Absolutely.

Well when he's gone we'll get a shit tonne of money..

Maybe someone will come on the market who will fit out team perfectly

I'm not saying we won't need to buy a good half ...

But if SOS can build on his Sharks performance, then he could form a quality halves partnership with Dearden
Yeah if Turpin keeps up his form, Seggy off the bench, and Milf playing a Ponga like role at the back, SoS and Dearden look to be sufficient.

Dearden and SOS is who i think seibs will go into 2020 thinking for the halves but he may keep an eye out if someone more suitable presents themselves.

Yeah if they can build on what skills they already have, that has the potential to be a lethal combination.
