Tosser. Should be booted off the Olympic team.

Enough said.

If he gets booted from the swim team, should he join the boxing team. [icon_razz1

Haha. Kaz, I think you mean elbowing team. He struck Cowley with his elbow.

I am good friends with the guy and went to school with him. It was a monumental f*ck up on his behalf and now he is going to pay a huge price.

For what its worth he really is a nice bloke and rarely goes out on the drink.

Well regardless of how regularly anyone goes on the piss, if they act like wankers when they do then they're going to pay the consequence eventually. He's paying a price higher than most, but then that happens when you have more to lose than the guy you punch/elbow.

Harsh lesson, but he has to learn it.

Stuff that, let him go to the Olympics. He'll learn the hard way when no one on his team has his support and when everyone looks down on him. That would hurt.

Not so much a case of letting him go or not mate. He's up on some serious assault charges before the Courts - they will be the ones to decide his short term future, at least!

Did he do something other than get into a fight with another bloke? Like why do you guys want to see him punished?

p.s where's that woman comparing swimming's angels to the football playing demons hiding atm?

He was drunk and acting like a ****, and then allegedly elbowed another bloke in the face (allegedly), breaking his jaw, eye socket and palate. The guy he whacked could lose teeth as a result.

I want to see D'Arcy punished for that, and at the very least he shouldn't realise his dream and the dream of many other swimmers who have managed not to break someone's face, of competing in the Olympics.

I laugh at his father coming out saying the media has been biased. Biased against what?

I think she's consulting Kevin Rudd's speech writers about how to write an apology.

Obviusly because he cant handle his piss. Reports today say that he bashed some bloke 18 months ago on the Suny Coast

Let's see.

OH, I know! It could have something to do with the fact that I want LESS c**khead guys who get violent on the piss being out drinking in bars when I'm there. Not a big fan of getting king hit by some tool who can't handle his drink.

He should be able to go unless he has court related clashes or court related punishments that coincide with the Olympics. Punishment from the court IF found guilty will be all he should be serving and possibly a funds reduction or ban from the AOC. To deny anyone there whole careers ambition for one incident unrelated to the sport itself is ridiculous. In saying all this I hope if he is guilty, he goes to jail and he is in there during the games because what he did is disgusting I just don't think the AOC should be able to take the Olympics off him when he qualified, his teammates resentment will be just about enough punishment on its own.

Coxy the biased stuff from the media his Dad was talking about was stuff like channel 10 using a picture of him from his facebook page. They said something along the lines of the pictures are proof that he loves to go out and get hammered and then showed a picture of him with a beer in one hand and opening a bottle of scotch. The picture was taken at a party where he was given the scotch for a present.

Fair enough, but he's not robinson crusoe there. The "story" they've made of Stephanie Rice's pics from some costume party is ridiculous, and Swimming Australia's overreaction only makes it worse.

MB: how can anyone feel pride for someone who goes out on the drink and smashes a bloke's face, whether provoked or not? I certainly wouldn't feel proud of him should he win gold. I'd wonder what sort of standards we set as a nation to let someone who can behave like that represent it.

I'm just being consistent, I feel the same way about the behaviour of any individual. I believe mistakes happen, and you should be able to be rehabilitated and contribute to society, but certain privileges should be lost. Such as representing your nation in the sporting arena etc. There's just a disgraceful mentality in this (and other) countries that we aren't accountable for our own actions, and we should still be able to do whatever we want.

God there were some good photo's there. She should be swimming in a bikini. That would make me a happy Nashy.

He should be able to go to the Olympics. It would be far too harsh to deny him that.

I hear Carl Williams is quite a marksman. Should we let him represent Australia at shooting?

Fair enough Coxy, I really don't like the trial by media and as I said if he is guilty and punished I hope he misses the games through court set punishment,

So why are the investigating an incident in a club/pub two years ago.

He allegedly hit someone then, over a girl.
