NRL 2026 Round 13 Discussion

Nobody will ever convince that penriffs 3rd man isn't late most of the time.

They all just trust their inside man with everything, no matter who it is, even the fill ins. It's so well coached.

It sucks but they are incredible. Both sides of the footy.

How many times have we seen that called high and penalty even though its falling. Most of the time I'd say

Well done to Penrith but that's a bad result for the competition. Minus three of their best players and still too good for the Warriors.

2026 is virtually a cake-walk, we may as well start looking forward to 2027.
What’s really alarming to me are the methods and systems and whatever else they’ve been doing out there for the last few years that’s put them so far ahead of the pack. This shouldn’t be the case in a professional competition and that’s not me suggesting anything shady is going on at Penrith, but rather questioning why everyone else in the NRL can’t match what they’re doing. And before people point to last year’s prelim final and the fact we beat them, I’m talking about the level that Penrith are 9 times out of 10 for the last five and a bit years.

They're ultra fit, they play for each other and their style suits the modern game.

Other teams either can't match their physicality or belief.

One day we'll be thanked for stopping what was every chance of being 5, 6, or 7 years of Penrith comp wins in a row.

Maybe they'll come back to the pack a touch when Ivan leaves and some of that core top level group leave.

There is no doubting they are elite. Their defensive system is too good.
IMHO they get away with a fair bit with the 3rd man arriving late and piling on top when they have no right.
It's not by much when they get it wrong but when you consider other rules which are given no leeway by refs, it urks.
It's easily my top pet hate.
Second Pet hate is how / WHY we can't replicate it. We've all been watching long enough, WTF are other coaches doing.

Yeah, I think they get more leeway than others on some things, but the more I think about it, I think they do things better to either hide the extra shit they are doing and do things better to gain maximum advantage out of every bit of 'doubt'.

I know it's a part of the game a lot of people pisstake, but have a look at Lussick in the 2nd half yesterday especially. He's probably what, they're 2nd or 3rd string hooker, but has slotted in and just gone to work, but he was into Sutton on nearly every ruck about it being slow. Hands in the air, pointing, yelling. Now anyone can do this, but they don't, and over time you are just hoping that eventually a couple are called your way because of the illusion you have helped create that they are all slow.

You look at the stats post-game, and their average play the ball was much quicker than Wahs, and much quicker than anything anyone else gets in a lot of games, but they are playing the game on everything possible.

It's a small example of something they do, im sure there's probably many others, to gain every possible advantage on top of being an incredible footy team because they are so well coached/drilled.
