NRL 2026 Round 15 Discussion

It was a tough call against the Warriors and there should be some sort of consequence with the officials and the ground staff. With that said it didn't decide the game and the call did even up when Ford smashed McInnes with a blatant high shot following the Rudolph penalty.

1:23:40 for those looking.

Had to look at that set again because it appeared the Warriors also got away with hitting a player off the ball. Was actually a good call from Sutton since Rudolph initiated the contact with Laban. With that said, did notice the Warriors got away with 'peeling' a few times that set.

Couldn’t agree less.

Whether it’s the ref, the bunker, or the ground, if something goes wrong, how do you blame and penalise the player?

Imagine the try line and dead ball line paint washed off and so the player stops before scoring and asks the ref how far they have left to go before the try line. The ref says “20m” then blows the whistle and says “you ran the ball dead. Not my responsibility to tell you where the try line is”. If it’s not your responsibility then don’t say anything.

On top of that, how can you accuse the player of running it down to the last second if there was no clock showing how long it had been? Was he counting in his head? Nope, he asked the offical how long he had left because there was no other available way to know. The ref said 5 seconds and he kicks it in 2.

In no world is that a penalty.
They were running the clock down all night.

I dont know what the protocols are for shot clock... every now and then you here the ref go "5 seconds" so that's probably the only thing the ref ever says to them and it would be when the bunker tells them, but most players are just watching the screen until the clock runs down.

The onus is on the players in the same way that the ref shouldnt be telling them how to pack a scrum.

Most likely the clock was up and then it switched to an ad and the players were caught completely unaware.

Instead of prepping themselves they were asking the ref and complaining that an ad popped up

Stop the clock when the ball goes out anyway I say. Bring in more fatigue, get rid of the 6 again.

Nothing annoys me more than going to ground on 5th tackle when you are attacking and have a team scrambling. Twice the Titans just died with the ball.

Kini just had the best 7 or 8mins I have ever seen. Ripping them to shreds.

I want the Tigers to win.

So that means the Titans will smash them.

Sayfarth on report mins later. That helps the Titans alot that does

Let's recap.

Souths squashed Brisbane. The Broncos with their worst performance yet and Souths were able to stroll over easily. Origin affected, Broncos suffered injuries and their depth got exposed yadda yadda but there was nothing redeeming on the night. Souths get a much needed two points and add 42 points to their differential. Broncos do or die against the Roosters, otherwise it's time to start playing for 2027. Maybe you do get weird and play Walsh at 6 and Ezra at 7. I don't think there's a ton of players they can blood - Francis could probably do a cameo off the bench but outside of giving Mozer another shot they're short on alternatives.

Dolphins squashed Roosters. Dolphins continue their rich vein of form against a pretty disappointing Roosters. Roosters just aren't showing the resolve of a champion team and they're just looking like they belong in the same galaxy as the Panthers. Dolphins aren't looking shabby and looks like they'll play finals.

Cronulla over Warriors. Just about had a tear in my eye. The attack was pretty average but it was nice to see some genuine physicality in the game. Could have gone either way but Cronulla in the clutch produced two amazing plays to take it. Warriors with a chance to equalise off some absolute brain dead play from Katoa but fell short. Feels like their lot at the moment.

Eels over Raiders. Took Canberra too long to trouble the scoreboard and they just look done for 2026. They're not playing with anywhere near the same intensity as last year and their attack has gone backwards. Injuries haven't helped but just another example of if you're not moving forward you're likely getting lapped. Eels starting to show some backbone after some awful performances. Could be a sign of life and a potential Top 8 steal. Big game against Penrith coming up - the Eels turned up big time and produced a quality game against them last year. I wouldn't completely write them off, even though Penrith are in a league of their own.

Wests kept their season alive after a topsy turvy game against the Titans. Very 2026, but also a very Titans esque game where they float in and out of games. Wests didn't go away and when the game was there to be won they took advantage while the visitors folded. Something of a popcorn match for the neutral fan, but for Wests it may go down as one of their more memorable wins of the year. If I was a Tigers fan, I'd certainly revisit it.
