I have looked at that try about 5 times and I still can't see what hannay and people are whinging about. What was the actual issue with it?

The Howarth one, that all the commentary and panel all also said they thought wasn't a try?

At minimum it was a very generous call to not say he was held. Thought it was a pretty apparent 2nd effort to go again and find the try line.
