During the pre-season, Dearden was expected to be the halfback. However his trial form was that poor it caused Kev to change his mind and shift Croft into halfback.

The call was for Dearden to work on his game in the QCup.

However after one game his management pulled an ultimatum.

Play Tom or he'll ask for his release. So they played him and over the course of several weeks he played his worst footy.

Actions speak louder. I don't begrudge Dearden going to the Cowboys and think it was the best decision for him. However this whole line about 'I wanted to be a Bronco for life' is emotionally manipulative clap trap. I'm surprised you'd fall for it.

If he was honest, he was upset the Broncos didn't try to compete with the Cowboys offer.

Xavier Coates said the same thing, 2 months later he signed with the Storm to win a premiership.

Meanwhile dearden now captains his club and is qld halfback when fit. Maybe he was just playing for a good bloke who can’t coach.

Nope. Souths are on 24. We want them to keep losing because they are in the 8.
Raiders we play and they are only 1 game in front.
Souths have the most difficult run home so they're most likely to be the team we displace.
We play all the teams immediately in front of us too bar Manly who have a tricky run home so provided we keep winning we should make the 8.
