NRL 2026 Round 8 Discussion

The storm are getting worse each week. Have they hit rock bottom yet? The body language coming from all their players is very ordinary. Bellamy looks like he's at a genuine loss at what to do..

Storm are done, go back to our win down there we went in with no confidence out of form and back to back losses, Storm on the back of 2 big wins and we roll them.

Then the Warriors who people were blowing smoke up after that game for scoring 30, now its the normal vs the Storm, I never thought I would see the day but they are cooked!

Kind of feel bad for them, they’ve always sort of been the benchmark and our rivals, seeing them just be shit is kinda eh. I want them to turn to shit after Bellamy, probably just getting soft in my old age. Few years ago I’d be lapping it up.

I still don’t think they’re done though, anyone else starting to think the loss of Paps might’ve been bigger than they thought? I know he’s not the one missing the tackles in the line but I guess he organised their defence better, can’t explain the errors though.

Nah Bellamy deserves to have them turn to shit to cap off his coaching career.

They deserve everything coming to them following their wet lettuce treatment in 2010 and their hubris since in celebrating the stripped titles
 
Melbourne started well, plenty of energy, looked like they wanted it really badly but then the errors came, the inability to defend their line, the doubt sets in and there it goes.

They look every bit a bottom four side, I don't know why but I almost feel for them, we were there not too long ago. The guys want to win so badly, the coach he wants them to win too, they've got a good roster. It doesn't matter though, if you make errors and you can't defend them, you can't put pressure on the other team because you spend too much time under your own goal posts. Bellamy gets them out of this, it will be his biggest achievement.
 
I don't feel bad for the Storm and Bellamy. They brought the wrestle into the game and because of it we're now stuck with the crap 6 again rule.

Surely Slater won't pick Munster for Origin. His defence is just getting worse by the week. In the Souths game one of the commentators said that Munster was "pushed aside like a witches hat" as Souths scored one of their tries.

It isn’t just Paps, their equally big issues are Xoates and Katoa. Katoa is the best second rower in the game in my opinion and with these three gone, that’s almost all their X factor lost given Munster looks past it and so does Hughes suddenly.

They also don’t have Pezet, Ganderson or NAS sitting around to call on just to change things up either. Warbrick, Meaney and Wishart are all probably checked out already too now finals look a mile away.

Considering the storm's go to when they're struggling is to just lean into faking injuries, milking penalties, etc. I could see Harry or Hughes having a massive blow up at the role player guys that aren't as versed in the dark arts as them.

If the leaders start losing their heads on the field it could start imploding.

Maybe this is an instance where the tip sheets for the refs are a good thing. Melbourne players will dive at anything do not reward it.

I still laugh at Hughes running straight toward one of our players who is literally standing there not even looking at him and Hughes falls over after jumping into his back and complaining why there is no penalty.
 
I sure as shit don't feel sorry for them, I hope they lose every single game for the rest of the season. It's getting boring watching them get pumped every week though.

I think the tip sheet is "just give them everything... we need storm winning for the Victorian audience"
