Nah that should be a knock on at all times... shit call from the bunker.Hmm. I'm ok with that not being a knock on if it's consistent tbh bc it only ever went backwards...but that's been a knock on for 100 years lol
I see your point - but for mine the ball wouldn't have come out if it weren't for the tackler whacking it. De Belin had the ball well secured, ball came out 2m backwards because the defender makes contact directly with the ball, it never travelled forwards. I'm ok with that one being called backwards IF they all are, but yes by the precedent and rules as they are, it should have been a knock on.Nah that should be a knock on at all times... shit call from the bunker.
It's the same as those instances where they call a knock on because the grass is the only thing stopping it from being a knock.
In that one the tackler is the only thing stopping it from going forward, but at some point JDB has lost it into the eagles player
To me there is an instant at some point in the tackle where it's no longer in JDB's hand/grip, but it's still touching Paseka ... then him driving forward with the tackle sends it in the other direction.I see your point - but for mine the ball wouldn't have come out if it weren't for the tackler whacking it. To me it's a different situation to where someone doesn't have a good grasp on the ball, defenders knock the arm or something and the ball comes out forwards and contacts the defenders. That's a clear knock on because of the forward travel of the ball. I see this one differently because it's the ball which is knocked directly by the defenders rather than coming out through other bodily contact.
Weird game this one so far, good arm wrestle and these teams are well-matched, but soooo many errors...
