That's a good pick up for the Rabbits but I guess the salary cap still doesn't apply to preferred teams. How does losing Allan's wage equal Mansour's? Allan isn't on 400-500k a year at present.

Well good on the Rabbits, pick up an absolute gun in a position they have a need and ship out a very good but back up player in a position they already have covered. Amazing what good clubs can do with proactive management.

You’d think so, except we say the same about Roosters, Melbourne, Titans. Maybe this is what’s possible under good administrations in tandem with good coaches.

I personally wouldn't include Melbourne in that group, they lose a few when their price starts to climb, they seem to find youngsters and rejects on the cheap to pad their squad and then turn them in somebodies who them move onto other clubs when their price inflates.

Where as clubs like Roosters and now the Rabbits, seem to replace low priced talent with high priced talent without losing any of their existing high priced talent and also seemingly making room on their cap in the process.

The Titans are a bit of a weird one, they've always had overpriced and underperforming rejects in general, they've cleaned out a few of those but have thrown that free cash recklessly at talent in hope that it pays off in the short term, their window is the probably now, I think their spending will then hurt them in a couple of years.

The articles i read including where i got this from say talks are progressing and a deal has been offered, but not signed yet.

T Baz is proving an outstanding recruiter once again. If they had Burton and JAC this year with early releases I'd have them as top 8 material. I actually hope the doggies get back to a powerhouse club again. It's been a fucking boring last decade with the Storm and the Roosters featuring in basically every grand final. The salary cap is absolutely not achieving its intended goal. Hopefully Smith fucking off brings the Storm down a few pegs too.

On another note, the dogs signing Allan probably gives the Mansour->Souths rumours some legitimacy.
