id say the panthers 1st premiership would have been on the cheap side think cleary only upgraded this year? could be wrong though

Cleary re-signed in 2018 and in a desperate move the Panthers also signed his dad to coach the team to ensure he'd stay. Originally they were targeting Bennett for the role, but when Nathan was considering linking up with the Tigers to be coached under his dad they made the switch.

Fair to say it paid off for them.

The Panthers bumped the deal off to stave off any interest, but he'd already signed on for a 5 year $1,000,000 contract to stay.

Supposedly he was only on $940,000 in 2021 after being on a million in 2020 (and that was with the 10% reduction) so that suggests the Panthers bumped up his pay the previous year to afford more talent for the ensuing year.

He's now supposedly on $1.3 Million.

Hasn’t Cleary extended for slightly less than that $1.3 million he was reportedly on ? There were some stories doing the rounds earlier this year that he had or was going to extend for a bit less than his current deal to help the Panthers keep their roster together
