If money is important to Ponga, he'll stay at Newcastle. No club can match the Knights there. Simple as that, they have him on the books for a supposed 600k, they could immediately upgrade the last 2 years to 1.1M and he's got an extra million in salary for the next 2 years if he agrees to sign for an extra 3 or whatever. Any other club can only really offer him 1-1.2M after he finishes.

Basically Newcastle can offer him 1M more than any other club for staying with them if they're smart. That's all assuming they have the space in the cap, if they don't, then it's even footing.

I'd love to sign Ponga, he's a star.

"Knights chief executive Phil Gardner is notoriously difficult in contract negotiations." Really? Could have fooled me given the amount of blokes they have on overs. If they lose Ponga they'll be back in the bottom 4.

Can you imagine the amount of TPAs he'd attract in Brisbane? He'd probably get more money in Brisbane given his form for QLD than he would for the rorters, and that's no mean feat.

DWZ has signed with the Bulldogs

Won't help them, but at least they're not signing any more bog average second rowers like Stimson (LMAO) when they have CHN rotting in reserve grade and Martin on the bench, both of whom are in a different class.

Gagai anyone ?

Gagai would only be worthwhile as a winger. The fact that he wants to leave now that a centre spot has been taken says to me he only wants to play centre. So it’s a no from me.

Pretty sad to see him not finish up as a 1 club player.

On the plus side, Tigers will now have the most Lebanese players in one team with Mannah, Twal and Farah, so are now clearly premiership favourites.

On a more serious note, looks like Maguire really doesn't rate Packer.

Good for Tigpies, bad for Parra, good for the Broncos. He's a real old school hard working frontrower.

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic, but how is this good for us.

What is he like as a fullback? I know he has played there but can't remember if he was any good.

Terrible. There’s a reason an origin motm back is behind a squid like Johnston and the rookie Allen in the Rabbitohs fullback pecking order.

His best position is definitely wing but I’d consider him on low coin if it allows us to shuffle out Boyd. Isaako to fb maybe.
