NRL Round 5 Discussion

Canberra star Kaeo Weekes was robbed of a brilliant solo try in the first half of his side's clash against the Sharks on Thursday night.

From WWOS.

Weekes wasn't robbed of shit. Nicholson takes out Trindall. Trindall is coming across and Nicholson takes out his legs. The onus is on the decoy runner to not make any contact.

Weekes takes the space.

Maybe Weekes still scores, but the point is Trindall is denied any opportunity and where Weekes goes through, it’s too close to where the contact occurred.

That was a pretty straight forward call and a pretty easy one to make.

The sin bin seemed no different to all the ones last week he has to get suspended as well. And fine Ricky again, is that two or three weeks in a row he’s ragged on them?

what a way to finish the game by Nicho. I was certainly...

Season 3 Laughing GIF by The Simpsons

at his expense. Thanks Nicho.

It doesn't say that at all, in fact it barely even implies that, Hell Mozer is mentioned more in the article than Walsh is.

Walsh is mentioned exactly once:

"He was part of Brisbane’s famed academy system alongside the likes of Reece Walsh and Blake Mozer until South Sydney swooped with the offer of a full-time NRL contract that the Broncos couldn’t match."

First paragraph.

Jye Gray's former coach has claimed the young Rabbitohs fullback has proven the Broncos wrong after the club let him sign for South Sydney with Brisbane prioritising Reece Walsh in the academy.

We're clearly reading different articles then ... On the courier mail article, the first paragraph is:

"Energiser bunny Jye Gray is the Dally M Medal leader who slipped through the net of the Titans and Broncos and is keeping NRL superstar Latrell Mitchell out of South Sydney’s No. 1 jersey."
---

Walsh isn't mentioned until the 6th paragraph... In fact the paragraph that you've quoted appears no where in their article.

---

But let's just for a second assume that Grays former coach did say that ... He is clearly deluded, because the last thing that Jye Gray has done is proven the club wrong for prioritising Walsh.

Witt is talking about Blake Mozer unless the CM has completely buggered it up.

And Hynes comes up with literally the worst play possible with the game on the line... bloke is tissue paper under pressure

Remember the crap we copped for "missing out" on him? I think people forget that he was the Sharks second choice, from memory they met with Reynolds and Fitzy thought he had him all sewn up, until we stepped in. So they signed Nicho. Unless I'm remembering wrong.

Witt didn't say that- he said he doesn’t think the Broncos thought he would be an NRL player.

“The Broncos had him but I don’t think they thought he’d go to the next level,” he told The Courier Mail. But the Bears coach claimed the fullback has proven many of his doubters wrong. And he also praised Gray's humble nature, which he feels is a huge addition to the South Sydney team.

Panthers V cows is a huge game for both sides.

Cows started 0-3 but this could take them to 2-3 with back to back wins including victory over the reigning 4 times champs.

Panthers on the other hand have lost 3 straight, still battered by Injury but have clearly back who many think will turn their form around. If they lose with him back and then 4 loses straight teams will smell blood in the water.

I think teams already do tbh. I get they have to adjust to life without Luai but they just haven't looked the same.

Talk from the media that as long as they make the 8 they can win the comp is just baffling. I get that Finals is like a new season but I'm not seeing anything yet to make me think like that.

Riff have nothing now without Cleary. Surely the strat is to ‘jam’ (hit him late/ illegally) him like teams did to Walsh last year
