Thanks @Big Pete.
When Haas was playing u20s I would get to every home game super early so I could watch him play. I thought he was the best junior forward I had ever seen but even I didn’t think he would be putting numbers up like those so early in his career. His contract is the best value for money in the league.

Haas’s Numbers back up what appears to be eye, he’s a freak. Lodge’s numbers are also great and Joffa is under appreciated.

Flegler and Carrigan make extremely impressive impact with their hit ups on average.

Dave Taylor - 18 average tackles, sounds right for both ways to read it. Hehe

It's interesting how mediocre Webcke's stats actually are, lol.

Just goes to show the most important things you need in a footballer can't be measured with stats. How many times did Webcke take that tough run when we needed it to set up the next bloke. Grit, toughness and leadership can't be measured by statistics, which is why I always had a problem when they were being used last year to show Sua was apparently better than Lexie. They can be so flawed when you just look at raw stats.

Great Work with those @Big Pete

Precisely, if you have a forward who can play the ball really quickly, the next forward is going to be rewarded with the metres from that.

If you have someone with a really slow play the ball, the next forward will struggle.

To be honest though, back then, not a lot of forwards consistently cracked the 100 metre mark. His work rate would have been up there with the best in the comp at the time for front rowers

Yeah, maybe you're right. Front row is by far the most reliable position to judge on stats these days, so it's just interesting to see how it compares to current players. In comparison, it's roughly Ofa's numbers.

Run metres seem to be awarded more generously nowadays. Before the NRL changed stats providers most decent props averaged around 8 metres per run, and almost nobody over 9. Those numbers seem to have inflated by about 1 metre per run since then, and I think it's purely down to interpretation.

Although I don’t have vivid memories of those times, I think Webcke was always quality over quantity. Or perhaps intensity over quantity

Geez what wouldn't you give to have tackle efficiency rates like that now?

Geez what wouldn't you give to have tackle efficiency rates like that now?

There is still a lot of players who have similar efficiency stats these days, this is just the players in the top 50 for most tackles made with an efficiency rating of 92% or above -

Klemmer - 96.3%, Ah Mau - 95.7%, Twal - 95.1%, Tatola - 94.1%, Graham - 94.0%, Farah - 93.7%, Papalii - 93.6%, C.Smith - 93.5%, McInnes - 93.5%, J.Trbojevic - 93.4%, McCullough - 93.3%, Rein - 93.3%, Tamou - 93.2%, Tolman - 92.8%, Murray - 92.5%, Eisenhuth - 92.5%, K.Bromwich - 92.3%, Cook - 92.2%, Haas - 92.2%, Taupau - 92.1%, Kaufusi - 92.1%

For many, Darren Lockyer is the greatest fullback in history. I thought it'd be interesting to see how often he broke the line in comparison to Billy Slater and get an idea of how his numbers stack up.

Ben Barba 2012 - 27 Line Breaks
Anthony Milford 2014 - 17 Line Breaks

Sometimes memories can warp a player's abilities, making them better than what they were, but these figures demonstrate just how adept Lockyer was on his feet.

38 line-breaks? Damn, that's gotta be close to the record for an individual season, I don't recall ever seeing higher than that.
