No not our first Premiership in 1992 I'm talking about, but winning the Panasonic Cup in 1989 where we had to not only had to hold back a determined Steelers outfit who did their best to get back into the game but a pro Steelers crowd that boo'ed the Broncos all night long(and didn't the King serve it back to them icon_thumbs_u), great tries such as the one from Slamming Sam Backo and Peter Jackson's effort saw us get home, this is a game I wish I could revisit, infact come to think of it I wish I could revisit the early days of the Broncos (pre premiership) just to see the club evolve into what it would become and see some of the young talent that would go onto greater things.

Heres some highlights footage from the match.

We were such a skilled side, Peter Jackson could've been such a great player (well he was already a great player), so sad that his life ended so drastically and early.

Tbh I don't know why, but when I was a young fella I HATED Illawarra. I was obviously too young to remember this game, but in the 90's out of every team, Illawarra was the one I really hoped we beat.

So it's good to know we got our first trophy at the expense of those bastards [icon_evillaugh

I got a framed photo on a solid piece of board with the team from that match. It cost 50 cents at a lifeline shop in Townsville four years ago. My timing was slightly off because the little blue haired lady told me there was a stack of photos(framed) of the Broncos which had been donated but had just sold some 15 mins before I'd arrived. All cheap and doubtless something I would have killed for, I stopped for KFC before I went there dammit.
