It’s disappointing that his negotiations with broncos was only ever going to be for a short term contract while at the same time he discussing longer with Rabbitohs, I assume broncos didn’t want to add any clauses like Rabbitohs? I guess we’ll never know.

TBH, releasing a club video & club statement was never going to convince anyone, surprising that media expert donuts thought it would. They should have had him do an interview with some Syd hack instead.

Likely this was the best they could do considering where they are currently.

Payne video/statement and DD on radio was as good as it was going to get to get it out quickly.

I was looking back and his manager said he was going nowhere in June last year... 9 months ago is about May... so I'm guessing it was all pretty close to sorted way back then... and then R360 popped up and Haas was always wanting that to remain an option.

So I'd say he's been trying to figure out how a FIFO R360 arrangement would work from that point on... and Sydney near his partner's family has probably been in the thought process

- I'd say an interpretation of this is that a deal probably gets done ages ago (3yr deals reported in the media), but the money around R360 had him thinking and stalled things... I'd say from that point onward Haas wanted a contract and situation that allows him to do R360 if it gets going

Then registers a contract with a clause to go to R 360 ? Empty threats ?

He already said it wouldn't apply to Lomax, so any threat of that being upheld is already gone

It wouldn't be worded like that... DD specifically said Union this morning and then R360.

Clause could be something along the lines of ability to explore opportunities in Union competitions or something like that

I wouldn’t be surprised if SBW and friends start convincing him to join union after ‘27.

FYI, Braith Anasta claims there is no r360 clause but there is a Bennett clause.

Just on Braith he touched on Pezet in relation to Payne leaving for about 30 seconds.

Said it was like a gut punch to him any he felt a bit bad, because they had been given assurances that Payne would be there ... He also said he still doesn't have any concerns about Pezet coming to us
