Exactly right. It's just such a weird situation with Payne. We've bent over to him every time too. If he wanted to stay he would. He knows we want him here.

Normally I’d agree, but Haas backflipping now would make Wayne and the nrl media look like the world’s biggest peanuts

I actually think he's leaving becuase walsh got all the credit (rightfully) for the premiership lol. I remember an interview post gf he did where I thought it was very obvious. Interviewer mentioned walsh and haas started downplaying his performance lol

On that, **** id love jfh or leota. Would save about 600,000. Here's to hoping warriors or panthers have salary cap issues this year....

The guy has an ego for sure. The fact that he felt snubbed that Sam didn't come to his game and decided not to sign with Souths just goes to show it. We have witnessed it time and time again here. He is an exceptional talent and once in a generation athlete but not in a position where you need what he brings. For me Payne is a luxury signing and every day of the week I would chose Pat over him, I would have chosen Flegs over him. Just because his price is so damn high. I think he is already on overs here and should be on about a million. But due to his talent his price inflates to keep him.

We won our premiership with him and I will be forever grateful for the role he played. But the reality is when it will come down to rating my best props in a Broncos jersey he will not be in it. He wouldn't have been even if he stayed.

Haven't we picked up a promising Prop from the Phins? We should be able to pick someone up heading into next year. All you need is someone who will provide a bit of difference of the bench, Willison has shown he has what it takes and could be the future going forward. I would love a Fleggler type if not the man himself to return. I want some mongrel in our engine room.
