OFFICIAL Payne Haas to depart Broncos at the end of 2026

This kind of gutter journalism is pretty gross. Madge has just won these guys a premiership, something no-one, not even their personal dick-ride Wayne Bennett could do in the last 19 years and they are straight into him before the next season has already started. He literally can't do anything right.
This is just another Wayne and Kevvie dick ride.
Get off it everyone. ****en Germos and CONEHEAD can say what they like.
Making a GF and winning it are not the same thing.
Madge WON. The others didn’t.
End of gutter germos.

Bad news guys, according to David Riccio with Reynolds retiring and Haas gone we are now in a rebuild. Amazing how the media go from Reyno being too old and shouldn't even be part of the team moving forward to his retirement being a "hammer blow" and putting us into a rebuild lol.
This is the best. If we remember, most of these dickheads were saying we can’t carry the liability that Reyno is. Need room for new blood blah blah… now?!
Now we’re ****ed for all eternity 🤣
WE ARE THE PREMIERS!!!!

I love how they are soo certain that he’s going to souths for the same money, yet they don’t know why he’s left and had no idea that he was even talking to them, but the money is definitely the same! What a coincidence that the only thing they know for certain is that it’s for the same money as he was on in Brisbane….

The question shouldn’t be why he chose to leave the broncos, it should be why he chose to go to souths of all clubs when he could go to any other club he wanted… particularly if money isn’t the issue as they would have us believe.

I suspect even if the “real reason” comes out they will just ignore it anyway and claim it’s just broncos spin so they can continue their more comfortable narrative.

Kenty has already set that up, he has said he expects they will deny it so he cannot be wrong. Anything short of them saying yep Kenty was right is also confirming his assumption to himself.

I find it hard to believe that any manager with Payne Haas offers him to only one club in Sydney and for allegedly the same money he was already earning in Brisbane. He could have written his own cheque in Sydney if clubs knew he was available. Even if his heart was for some reason set on going to souths, whats the hurry, why didn’t his manager leverage it against other offers that would surely have been available in Sydney? But of course the narrative is on why the broncos lost him.

People acting like losing haas will make us plummet to the bottom of the ladder. Lol do people have amnesia? Have the media and opposition fans not watched rugby league this last 120 years?

The titans spent their entire cap on forwards a couple years ago, how'd they go? The rabbitohs let reynolds go, how'd they turn out for them? Theres 1000000s of examples that spines players are BY FAR the most important in the top teams. Payne could literally bulldoze an entire team for 90 metres each time he runs the ball, hes still not as important as walsh/cleary/moses/grant/metcalfe/ponga/tedesco/turbo/etc etc etc are for their teams because if those players (spine players) have a 9/10 season their team is likely in a gf vs bottom 8 if they have a bad season, and they ain't winning the gf without them. Payne has a 3/10 or 9/10 means you finish 2 or 3 positions difference MAX (I raise you 2017-2021 vs after reynolds came...)

We heard all the same crap when fifta left too, while they all ignored that the titans were paying him half a million more to go there… until it went tits up and suddenly they caught onto the idea that maybe paying an edge forward $1.25m a year isn’t a good idea!

Some people are in denial and rewriting history.

Webcke and Petero I can agree with if we're purely talking GF wins but on talent and capability they aren't a match for Haas. They've all said as much as well as Throrny, who played with both. I trust them over jobbers on this forum.

I wouldnt take Haas over Petero or Webcke. They are both easily a match for Payne, and just because they choose to big up Payne over themselves says more about them. Payne is a freak athlete, but he's not a better rugby league player than either of those two. Nobody is scared to run at Payne, he's soft. You cant say that about the likes of Webcke and Petero. Tough, tough footballers.

Origin is proof enough of that, Payne gets through his work, but he won’t do one of those big aggressive carries that can inspire a comeback.

We need to keep in mind -
This whole “fresh start” “my old mates” “more opportunity” shit talk?! STFU.

He is going for more money (in TPAs) and to play less. Finish the year in August is a pretty sweet gig.

Talking shit like Tino… “I want to win a comp with the Tits” no you don’t. You’ll be lucky to make the 8 in the next 50 years.

Souths will be closer than the Tits, but not by much.
Will Souths be better than the tits? Tits have a way better spine, better coach, and probably a better pack lol

It's funny how the media and souffs fans are quick to forget they have no spine lol.

Yet they are now somehow premiership heavyweights with the addition of payne. Must have short term memories, a prop will not win you the premiership.

Payne Haas is the best player in his position in the sport, that's not even a question.

It's just that the position he plays is probably one of the easiest to replace which leads in to value for money and all of that. There's more to this story though, if Souths haven't thrown the literal cap at him and he's just left. It's almost disrespectful.

One last thing…

Murray, Haas…. World Class forwards.
You could add Fish and Harry Grant…
**** it, throw in the best Second Rower in the comp…

How are your Halves?!

You can have a V8, without a steering wheel, it ain’t going anywhere.

Look at Melbourne, best spine in the comp and it wasn't even close.

Their forwards though? You give them world class forwards and a mediocre spine, do they make a GF? Absolutely not. Bellamy knows where to spend the money, I thought Wayne did too. Old Wayne has let spite get the better of him.

Latrell will have to have a career best season if Souths are going to win anything, outside of him their spine has nothing.
