OFFICIAL Payne Haas to depart Broncos at the end of 2026

From the Courier Mail today. Haas mother and father both involved in "off-field dramas". Well strike me down, I thought Gregor was in jail for a spear tackle and Joan locked up for a shoulder charge!

Only thing I took from this is that drug-running in Indonesia, and killing 3 people in a car accident and running from the cops are now “off-field dramas”

Seriously... its beyond a joke with the media now. Madge won us a ****ing premiership after 19 fuvking lomg years including with their mate Wayne. The entire fucjing team could quit tomorrow and id STILL BACK MADGE.

HIS training got the best out of the players, HIS game plans won us the games, his selections, his speeches, his interchanges.

The good thing is, just like last year, this is ammo for the whole team. They obviously love madge and he got them a premiership.

But, the media is THAT BAD in the nrl i would not be surprised if there is "internal pressure from sources" if we won 6 premierships in a row and won all the next 5 minor premierships including 2 or 3 years undefeated. Seriously, I think it would still be the case. Its actually insane.

We ARW THE ****ING PREMIERS and they are questioning the coach hahahahahahahahahaha **** off

But im hearing from a source close to toilet block down the street that the players are tired. Madge has the players cleaning and polishing all 13 trophies themselves!

The players have had enough!

Do you think the Titans and their squad with their comfortable footy are worried about a little dust. Im sure there are more than a few Broncos looking down the M1 thinking the grass might be greener!

Watch this space....

I think this is the key piece that the media are missing, what Madge has done for us will never be forgotten by the fans. He delivered what no-one else could and what we had been craving. Matty the water boy on Kempy’s podcast talks about it all the time what Madge means to him. He’s a Souths tragic and he will always love Madge for that premiership.

You can see that some of the media are confused, James Graham has said a few times in response to the negative comments he is getting from Broncos fans that this isn’t going away and insinuated why aren’t you with us basically. We could lose every player, every game and win the spoon from here and I will still support Madge, I will still love what he gave us. At the end of the day he and the players gave me memories that can’t be replaced. After being at the 2 previous grand finals to watch devastating loses he gave me the chance to stand in that stadium with my son, my best mate and my dad who had just recently completed 2 years of cancer treatment and witness our team lift the trophy. That experience cannot be topped for me and I owe that to this team and Madge for getting them there.

Great post!

You never watched an episode of home & away??

It's a shame these shows rely so heavily on rage bait.

Ideally, these shows would collate all the news so after a long day of work you can tune in and see what's going on in club land. Of course you want some impressions but it's clear they want to make personalities out of the host.

Read has drawn the short straw, so he often has to say something stupid so one of the more reasonable hosts like Anasta or Webster can put him in his place.

It works too, look at the engagement they've gotten here.

I still remember tuning in for 2021 and the opening episode was Cronk vs. Buzz, head to head after Buzz called out Cronk's conflict of interest. It was clear they wanted to get themselves over at the expense of the game so I peaced out.

Referring to killing 3 people, and facing an Indonesian firing squad for smuggling meth from Guadalajara as “off-field drama” might be the most peak rugby league journalism we will ever witness.

That article should be imprinted in a bronze tablet and stored in the NRL history museum

NRL tonight is more inline with that... but they still chuck in the sound bites from the previous night's 360 and then get the opinions of NRL geniuses like Spud Carroll

Haas is part of the Bunnies now... the tone of media reporting for him will change significantly.

He's basically one of the boys now

I always get the feeling, they can't talk analytics, they can't talk history, so they have nothing except my loud opinion- which is fine that's most fans except they're not at the pub they're on tv.

Exactly. The fact they have 3 or 4 shows a week as well is just ridiculous. Instead of 60 minutes to get through a weeks news cycle along with fact and firmer opinions you get this ambiguous nightly nonsense when they are just filling time. It's like a slow news day where you hear about the fat kid that shit his pants in class at the local school. These rage bait, loud opinions get clicks and views and makes them more money than they can fathom. They have no reason to reduce the number of shows to increase quality because for every person who loves it or hates it they all seem to be consuming the content.

It's just like majority of Souths fans love Madge and Dragons fans love Bennett. They broke the droughts.

This is why M.Johns is gold for Fox, has great analytics and great historical understanding for perspective and context so he never goes off and says things like best ever or never seen before because he knows it happened in 1986.

Bellamy is notorious, possibly even moreso than Madge, for absolutely flogging his squad to the breaking point in preseasons, but they never bring that up as a negative. Why do blokes like Bellamy and Cleary get to train their squads that way but Madge is the villain for doing the same thing? You've got to train hard to win in professional sport, which is probably why old man Wayne hasn't won anything in nearly two decades.

Can't criticize the NRL's golden boys. Don V'landal might get mad.
