Players I only just noticed

Funny thing with Gurgess is that he looked a nothing player last year. I saw him play a few games for North Sydney and he looked lost, unco, and out of his depth. He almost looked like he'd never actually played the sport before. Like an excited puppy, he was trying to get involved but didn't know how to position himself while tackling, sort of chasing opposition runners around, didn't know where to run, just really wierd. Whatever happened in the off-season made him a totally different player. Maybe McGuire just simplified his game, just run straight & hard, tackle whoever runs at you. Biggest transformation I've ever seen, bar none.

On George Burgess...Did he debut in FG at the Bunnies? Wasn't he grabbed from the SL having played a few? Point being, if he's played a dozen games in FG Super League, I don't think he should be eligible...

Tom played a few seasons with the Bulls, George was already out here playing NYC.

Tim Simona looks like an absolute future gun for the Tigers.

Didn't have a great game on Friday but I can see why people are excited about him. There is definitely a tonne of raw ability there, especially speed and the breaking tackles. The problem is that I don't know whether he is best suited to the sting, centre or backrow (obviously still playing on the edge)

James Tedesco also looked terrific on Friday. I've had a friend of mine raving about him non stop since the beginning of last year and if Friday night was anything to go by, I can see why he was excited by the kid.
