POST GAME Pre-Season - Broncs v Sunshine Coast Falcons

Bukowski, Semu, Allen, Francis (can't believe his only 18),BTK,and Verhoeven were my standouts. Special mention to Cassidy and Horne. Duffy needs to get it together, our halves depth looks concerning outside of Hunt and Reynolds. Kane Bradley wtf was that? I would rather go with Semu than BTK on the bench rotation at this point.

Coric was the standout for me, had abit of Webeke about him.
Unpopular opinion but thought Cassidy was better than Bukowski
Buckowski was near beast on field he was great in that first 20. The other hooker was great also but he did it against a tired defence and 3rd graders.

Bukowski with an ear injury, that's why he was wearing headgear.

He played well but didn't play better, he's Bukowski understudy at Wynnum so he's going to find it a challenge to get past him to Cup.

Considering Bukowski isn't even Wynnum's first choice hooker every week. It probably puts Preston at three.

He's 20 this year and was the Bronco hooker in NRLQ for six games and the Broncos rate him and brought him down from Townsville but has some challenges to overcome this year.

Looks like this is where it happened. Got his arm caught in an awkward position under the tackled player and his body weight dropped onto it.

Yeah could be, though I thought it might have been when going for a try, he looked in a lot of pain after that early.

I saw him grab his elbow on the ground .
He stayed down after the tackle .

The offload he threw on the try line went astray but could be very useful .
He looked more like a regular sized human . Lost the spare tire around his waist .

There was a point 15 minutes in where Te Kura and Francis were standing 15m behind the play after a kick had gone past them with their hands on their hips gassed and it was Francis that snapped out of it and slapped Te Kura on the arse and dragged him along back in the play as it came towards them.

My smoky debut for the year is tupou francis after that performance. Not sure it is a smoky inside the 4 walls of the club but being an 18 year old middle and not on any media tip sheets for this year so overall he is.

He wasn't the best on the field but he just seems to be the type to handle nrl. Did all the 1%s, aggressive but cool, right decision, and yes hes 18 but even physically seemed like a fringe 1st grader. I think he will soak and grow very quickly as a player from playing with men in the qld cup...

At what point is a smoky not a smoky though? I'd say after last night he's odds on to debut at some point.

Debut this year though?

I think that would be a big call.

I'm assuming he's still at school... so limited training that he can do with the main squad... and I don't think he's played Qcup yet either?

Late in the year or origin, yep.

He's only 17, just finished school and hasn't played Cup yet. He was the Bears Under 17 captain last year. He doesn't turn 18 until May.

It could prove perfect timing, plays the Meninga season- he's only played two games in Meninga which finishes May, turns 18 and then plays Cup after turning 18 in May.

He signed a four-year deal in 24 so he's got plenty of time.
