Pre-season

That's what I ment when he gets into first grade squad he will be getting over 400k.

I somehow don't think you can sign a futures contract especially when you must be 18 to sign one in the first place

Look it up on courier mail, plus on other sites. It may not be true for sure.

BRONCOS PAY BIG BUCKS FOR PAYNE

REMEMBER the story of Karl Filiga, the teenager who was signed to a three-year, $600,000 deal by Cronulla in 2007 before he had played a game of first grade?

Well the Broncos have also pulled out the chequebook, paying an estimated $465,000 over three years to win a fierce bidding war for 16-year-old Payne Haas.

As we revealed last week, Australian Schoolboy Haas will be a Bronco in 2017, but the full extent of the bidding war has come to light. Inside Mail understands Bulldogs scouts wanted to pay Haas $400,000, but the Canterbury board refused to take such a gamble.

There’s no doubt Haas is an exciting product at 193cm and 110kg but he is still a long way off NRL level. The Broncos will hope he proves a better investment than Filiga, who played just one first-grade game.

$465,000 over 3 years is $155,000 a year.

Yeah I reckon that's full of shit. This is the 20s pay model currently
[h=2]HOLDEN CUP: PAYMENTS FOR THE TOP 20[/h]$250,000 - Basic payments for the Top 20 players.
What Holden Cup players can earn outside the salary cap:
$31,500 - School fees allowance per club.
Unlimited - Approved living away from home allowance (up to $8,190 per annum per Holden Cup qualified player outside the Top 25).
Unlimited - Tertiary education, approved traineeships, apprenticeship allowances, medical insurance costs, relocation/temporary accommodation costs.

No way in hell he is getting anywhere near 155k regardless of what the media are reporting and since he is 16, he cant be included in our NRL salary cap as you must be 18 at least.

If this photo was taken this month, definitely no worries about him eating too much in the off-season.

Guy looks fit as ****.

Lolwot

What is your definition of fit? He looks about the same size as last season

Which is still fit....

Oh I mean I thought you made this post because you thought he looked way leaner than last season or something, but to me he just looks exactly the same lol

All I meant was that he looked fit. I wasn't saying he looked better than last season.

However, he does look leaner than what he did at the back end of the 2016 season. He looked like he packed on a bit of weight.

Is there any news of Jaydn Sua. He played 80 minutes each game, could be a chance for a start in the 17.

I would struggle to see him in the 17 to start the season with what our second row ranks are at the moment. But the kids only 19 so its a good thing. He will most likely play Q Cup or 20s until origin when he will get another taste. I think in 2018 he will be gunning for a spot in the team.

Anyone know what 20s players are training with the first grade squad?

@Smokin' Joe

I am pretty sure Payne Haas and Corey Allen are, I was just wondering if there was anyone else.
