Pre-season

Guess we don’t need him. Sounds fair to me.

Yeah I think any staff get they might not be needed, but a phone call at Christmas when you made the decision would be polite. Not nothing and then you ring and he says oh yeah you're sacked.

If Parker's time line is accurate.

I dont know, but i'd say CP demeanour towards some of the younger blokes could be an issue for Kevvie on top of other things. Parker imo has always had this chip on his shoulder that the younger guys need to have the same kind of treatment coming through that he got. Dont think he can accept times change. Hodges used to be the same as well but he seems to have changed how he does things.

Hodges has been great at Dolphins and is heading the juniors too.

That was my first thought too, I wonder if it came up in the review? Regardless, he still should have been told.

Strong team

both teams close to full strength ... looking forward to the game

So do we panic if we get pumped? I never really pay too much attention to trials but I really feel like we need to see a decent improvement... am I being impatient? Lol

We definitely need a strong showing just for the confidence it will give us, but in saying that we never do that good in trials.

If we get flogged it could be worrisome, but if it's 14-6 or so I don't think it would be panic stations.

I'd want to see decent commitment in defence and an ability to defend penalties and inside our 20m. Would also like to see some intent with the forwards and be able to get a roll on through the middle.

Of the players playing I'd be hoping to see Lodge and TPJ really put in for the first stint given they played last week.

We know what we're going to get with Coates, Patty and Glenn, plus Riki played well last week so I'm expecting them to just look at getting some miles in their legs.

Would like to see Turps play well as he's a big question mark on our season... if he gets out of DH a few times and combines well with Dearden and Croft I'll be happy. Would be nice to see Asiata work well through the middle as well.

Would also be nice to see Oates provide some strong plays in the second row to know that he can put pressure on Glenn throughout the season.

Asiata likely to come on for turpin?
Likely to come on for TPJ after 20-30mins with TPJ moving to prop or second row after a spell on the sidelines.

It's a trial and the full squad contains Paix and Gamble as possible Turps replacements
