POST GAME [PREMIERS, 2025] Broncos vs Storm

I'm not an Instagram guy, whose accounts are worth a look in the aftermath?

Who do we play next week?

I’m not ready for this to be over

It's not just the fact that we've won the premiership, but it's how that makes it so special.

Round 23 - Reyno, Ezra and Cobbo go down with injuries, our season looks over.

Round 24-27 - We had to win every game to make the top 4 which included beating Melbourne at Suncorp which is something we very rarely do. The Melbourne game wasn't the only hard game in that run either. We had to play the Cowboys at their home ground, we came back from 14 down against the Dolphins who treat this game as their GF.

Finals Week 1 - We were on a 10 game losing streak in finals games away from home. We had to come back from 16 points down against the minor premiers and we had two players in the bin during the match. We end up going to Golden Point and Ben Hunt kicks his first ever field goal for the Broncos.

Finals Week 3 - It was talked about all week how there would be mental scars from the '23 Grand Final. Panthers were coming into this game on the back of a strong performance against the Bulldogs. Cleary was 26 from 26 in day games since 2019. We had to come back from 14-0 down. Panthers were 98-0 when leading by 12 or more since 2020. Adam Reynolds has his chance at redemption with the attempt at conversion with the '21 Grand Final miss against the Panthers in the back of his mind and he nails it.

Grand Final - People said we played our Grand Final against the Panthers. Storm had never lost two Grand Finals in a row and they had never gone more than 5 years without a premiership since 2006. We had to come back from 22-12 down at half time and we had players dropping like flies with the game still on the line.

We did it the hard way.

Just to add onto this.

This was also the first time we had beaten Melbourne twice in a season since '03. 22 years. That's what we also had to overcome.

We had only done it twice in our history prior to Sunday night. 1998 and 2003.

Relevant but this team all of a sudden doesn’t give a **** about history. We may never lose again

that beautifully sums it up

It's the dawn of a new era of Brisbane broncos' football. Brisbane had gone rotten, its residents divided, criminals roaming free, corruption from the top all the way down. Without the broncos, this city lots its spirit, its soul, its very identity. Now, the idea of a saviour, is just that an idea, protagonists, thats for broadway. A hero isnt going to save this season. Only a team can do that. But every army needs a general, and every ship a captain, and in that warm victorious locker room, i think one emerged. Reece walsh. Just look at Michael Maguires eyes, listen to the way he talks, he knows that Reece Walsh is no ordinary white boy. Hes Annakin Skywalker, the face of the franchise, no the face of a movement , the face of a revolution, not just for the brisbane broncos, but for the city, a city that sets the tone for the entire world, from the caxton to the most remote villages across the globe. I think everybody felt a little bit of magic on sunday night. Anything is possible, even when THEY tell you it isnT, a spark can come from anywhere and it can turn into a raging wildfire, engulfing everything in its path, one premierhip can turn into 4 premierships, can turn into 40 premierhips, 40 years of broncos prosperity!!! under Reece Walsh. The tone is set, the culture is changed, the toilets are drunken from and will continue to be drunken from. And we are never going back to the way it WAS. Its not 2020 anymore, its 2025 and its the reece walsh era, AND other teams are gonna wish they were never BORN!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!

Just watched the whole game again, without the adrenaline pumping. Was nice to just sit back and watch the game and really enjoy it. A tear came to my eye at the full time siren. This club man.. this team.. absolutely incredible.

that really pissed me off. challenges are only allowed in a break in play. There was no break in play since we were entitled to play the advantage.

bringing it back to play the original knock on, just to allow the Storm to challenge borders on match fixing.

there is a very good reason Atkins and the touchies were booed during the medal presentation
Match fixing? Under Lord V'Landys? NEVER!

That entire last 20 minutes I was just convinced that we were going to get robbed in the dying moments.

I could see it all playing out in my mind... Storm milk some ridiculous penalty to get down into attacking territory, a few undeserved 6 agains for god knows what and then after we're on our heels scrambling and defending and holding on for so long, we finally can't take it anymore and Melb score a try at the death to rob us. Shades of Penrith all over again. I was preparing in my mind, convinced it would happen, right up until the final moment.

When I saw Riki catch that last pass was the first moment I actually let myself believe it.
Same. There has been some bullshit call that has ****ed us so many times in the past, that it had become some kind of trauma for me too. That Billy Slater drop-kick farce, or the Jamie Lyon torso try, the "high tackle" on whatever Rooster player it was who dropped his head into an arm. I could imagine Klown in the Bunker just poring over the footage to find something, anything to **** us.
