Pricey to Quit

I agree Oxy. We have seen quite a bit of evidence of this not being the case - Lewis, Fittler, Meninga (at club level and really he's not really the coach at Qld - that was always Henry), Stuart, Brown. I'm sure there's more.

For mine I don't think Price would make a good coach at all, mainly because he is such a good bloke.

If he's going to stay in league (and I hope he does) I think he would be best suited to some kind of mentoring role with young players in how to combine being a first grade footballer and a good guy.

Agreed. To be a coach you need to be able to be a prick at times. I can't see that in Pricey.
 
What are everyones thoughts on Pricey going around in origin this year? Locky is getting caned.. I can't understand why Price isn't as well.
 
Maybe the difference is that no-one's seen Price play this year. If sure no-one will doubt him even if he's 80% what he always has been
 
Depends on if he comes back from his injury in time to get some matches under his belt first

To think he could well have been a Bronco ! wasnt it price that cyrill went to watch in toowoomba when the found webby ? Hmmm doesnt that thought make you drool Price and Webby as the Bronc's front Row . I beleive he said yesterday he hopes to be back playing to be considered for SOO selection.

You can't tell me Lockyer is playing at a level 20% below his best though.

No he's not but I think it's a different argument (although I know there are some on here who disagree). I think the argument with Lockyer is more based on the fact that the Broncos desperately need him this year to focus on them - I don't think it has much to do with whether he's up to Origin or not.

As I said, if Price comes back 80% the player we know he is, QLD will pick him for sure and no-one would argue with that

I would like to see him retire from rep and enjoy his last season for his club.

Good on you pricey, absolute hero, its a shame injury has tainted his last year, lets hope he overcomes it and can play SOO and dominates them blues, regardless, he won't go out any other way then a top bloke

Todd Greenberg has to be the best CEO in the game as well.

The game will miss your Price :( Hopefully you can play one more origin game before you retire.
 
Thanks for your service to Qld Mr Price...best of luck. See you when you get sick of N zed although I heard you were staying after you retire. Sorry bud, don't believe it, be back before we can blink I reckon.
