QLD team game 2

Wat...it was very lucky. QLD didn't look in the game at all at that stage. A shit, lazy pass from Hodgson and Lockyer picks it up. 2006 was QLD's lucky series win.

You MAKE your own luck in this game. Farah's rebound of Price - He made that luck. He had the urgency and determination to be there to pick it up and race away.

But he did. And it was great. [icon_evillaugh [icon_evillaugh [icon_evillaugh

And as a wise (??) man once said, as Coxy has so beautifully pointed out in the post above, you make your own luck in origin....

Thanks for backing up my argument Coxy! LOLZ! [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [eusa_doh [eusa_doh

You definitely make your own luck in this game. If NSW had of won in origin 1, it would be on the back of luck. But a win is a win isn't it?

QLD were lucky in 2006. QLD didn't win on the back of brilliance, they won off the back of luck.

2006 is really NSW's series.[/quote:13plbr9s]

Except we won [eusa_doh, wow, you are struggling, first claiming you won game 1 2009 (in an earlier post), now the entire 2006 series - desperate - guess that's what happens when you have nothing to look forward to

Didnt NSW score off an obvious knock on in that game? THe one where hodgson clearly dropped the bomb but they somehow said he didnt touch it. thats seems a bit lucky for nsw to me....

There were several bad decisions in that game that went against Queensland. The NSW knock on ruled a strip which Tonie Carroll scored from, the aforementioned Hodgson knock-on and an incorrect knock-on ruled against Thurston which led to a NSW try come to mind. NSW had a lot of luck in that game and still couldn't capatalise.

Although, there's no telling how Tonga will go, I still think we look stronger than in Game 1. Firstly, Tonga is much better in defence than Hodges is. He also knows how to pass to the winger, and can actually work towards setting Folau up. And with players like Thurston and Lockyer in the halves, it's not like we need super quality attacking players to score tries, IMO defence is more important.

Greatest game ever. Thurston's show and go to put Tate out on the wing (thought he'd blow it with his stupid roll over to score the try).

After all the TERRIBLE DECISIONS made against us we came back and won.

Hodgson's pass to no-one, intercepted by LOCKYER, SCORES UNDER THE POST, QLD TIES IT UP...SCHIFOFSCE CONVERTS QLD WINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Best game ever.

Omg.... everytime I think of that game I scream for joy a little in my head.

The grasping of straws has begun already.

That origin game was ours for the taking, considering the numerous, lucky decisions that went the way of NSW. Those last 15 minutes were fantastic.

As for Tonga I am little nervous regarding his defense, size and lack of experience, but those things can be addressed. Dell had a shocker on Sunday and has shown he may not be able to handle origin.

Incredible series that one. Hodges gets a lot of criticism for his Origin performances, but in the first 2 games of that series he was outstanding. Our only good player in game 1 and part of a dominant backline performance in game 2.

And Locky's acceptance speech at Telstra Dome - shivers down the spine stuff!!!!

Anyway, no surprises at all with the team. Dell would've made for great theatre but I think it's for the best that they went with Tonga. Obviously NSW will target our right hand side in attack now, oh wait hang on, NSW are a bunch of idiots, so they might direct their attack at Dallas Johnson.

ah yes very great, Clutch play by The Great Lockyer, I still watch that game from time to time on DVD..

im still liking this QLD team even despite the 1 change, Tonga been there before he should know what hes in for, hope they get someone to defend alongside Lockyer though, they could be targeting him again with his recent miss tackle counts..Thaiday better play outta his skin after his recent stats..

was hoping to see Lillyman in there for some defensive work, but ohwell, 2-0 [icon_drun

Yeah, they were lucky that the ref didn't lose the game for them

QLD won it cause they were the better team. Hodgsons pass wasn't the result of luck. It was the result of the pressure created by a QLD team still being within striking distance even after so many disgraceful decisions by the officials.

QLD could have easily given up, but they didn't, and with less than 10 minutes to go, and 4 points down, Lockyer (could have been Thurston, can't remember 100%) puts a perectly placed kick in to the corner forcing the blues to work it out from perhaps the worst position on the field. Pressure gets to Hodgson and he throws a terrible pass, and the QLD scoop up the loose ball and score. That's not luck. That's determindation and persiverance to put yourself in the position to win the game, and the series.

2006 really NSW's series??? I seriously hope you are just trying to bait everyone here, otherwise you have just overtaken Coxy as the biggest tool on this forum.

But Thurston's NOT a halfback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2006 Game 1 we lost by 1 point
Game 2 30 - 6 (or 36-6 cant remember but we smashed em)
Game 3 History

So by Rocks maths QLD still win the series through more points scored.

If I was NSW id stop talking about Lockyers defence and how his best is past him cause I have a feeling Lockyer is going to wind back the clock next week and play one of the most dominant origin performances.

Now I realise his game against the bulldogs was extremely poor, maybe the worst ive seen him play but I think that could work in QLD's favour. Everytime Lockyer is written off he comes out and shuts the critics up by playing a blinder, like we saw a few weeks back for the Broncos. So if I was NSW id be keeping my mouth shut and not giving Lokcyer any further motivation to lift his game. He's a QLD'er and when he has his back to the wall he comes out fighting stronger than ever and I think Wednesday we will see just that, Lockyer playing one of the best gaes we have seen him play in a long while, Im excited GO QLD!!

They hammered him after game 1 2006 for being rubbish and terrible in defence and basically past it. Game 2, 2006 - zomg, it was vintage lockyer. See him put Mason on his arse and scare him for the rest of the game. This is what is going to happen next week.
