Here is one for your research, bud. What is the highest team total in a first class or Test match without there being a centurion?

Shield wise; Bulls' 516 with a top score of 77 the previous top score of no more than 77 was 480 NSW v Victoria in 1904. Lowest top score of an innings of 500 plus Geoff Marsh 88 out of 509 in Bulls v WA 1992.

It just highlights the very slim batting options in Australian domestic cricket. No future Test greats in that bunch.

Yep.

I remember early 90s when it wasn't uncommon for 3 or 4 blokes to make more than 1000 runs.

99-06- 12 batsmen scored 1000 runs.

Since then Katich and D.Hussey in 07/08, Klinger and Rogers 08/09 and Klinger and Voges 14/15.

Katich's massive 1506 runs is still the record for a year.
