CRICKET Queensland Bulls 25/26

Khawaja edges behind for 87.

Difference between Blues and Bulls is two players got 100's. Bulls throwing away starts but today is a chance to bat all day and just use it as a big net session.

Clayton slowly creeping up there, if he can land another 100 that's six and 11 50's in 37 games since 2022. He went through that period of getting 56.

He averages 58 on the Gabba. He's certainly improving every year.

Clayton looks to me like he has a fair bit about him. He really just needs to go on withhis starts and work on his running between wickets.

Thought the pitch would do a bit more at the Gabba today. Haven't watched so assuming pitch was pretty flat and the Bulls bowled garbage.
Good assumption about the pitch, Poor assumption saying the Bulls bowled garbage - its just such a scorecard comment whch to be fair to you is what most people base their views on. Kerr and Straker bowled well, with Kerr partuclarly economical. Skelly was decent on debut. Bazley was pretty awful all day and Swepson didnt bow to his usual standards. All of this was on a pitch that didnt offer the bowlers much at all. Thats my opinion sed on watching

Blues 2/148.

Now the sting has gone out I get the feeling the Bulls are going to struggle to take wickets.

Smith is going to cut this Bulls attack like a surgeon. No Nes and Steketee etc brings the Bulls back to earth.
Tough pitch for the bowlers. Nesers skill and guile would have been great to have, as would the raw pace of Vidler in short spells to try and change things up a bit. So Neser yes, and Steketee a no for me. He was definitely on the slide for me last season. Smith and KP batted well but didnt go untroubled. KP played and missed quite a lot, left balls that missed the top of middle by a whisker. Konstas slammed for leaving his ball on length as an attrocious leave, KP lauded by the commentators for his judgement - its a game of millimetres sometimes.

Konstas is still vulnerable to the ball coming in .
Leaves balls that are hitting the stumps too often for an opener ATM .
Left handers around the wicket are in with a chance . Joffra with in swingers would make him his bitch I think .

Well I've watched most of it, albeit doing other things at the same time, and Skelly looked absolutely atrocious. He was spraying them everywhere and his bouncers were sit up and hit me balls.

Qld just kept throwing their wickets away. I really want to see Clayton go on with it here because he looks good enough to be a test player in the not too distant future but he does have a tendency to also throw his wicket away out of nowhere. If he could make it a big ton today, it could be the start of something special. If he doesn't, the huge question mark around him will continue in force.

So much spin at the Gabba. Makes me sick.

Lyon
Swepson

Bulls 105 behind, declare and put it back on NSW to get 100 and then chase.

Bulls 82 behind at lunch- declare! Be bold.

Kerr 50 on debut.

Obviously first 50 for the Bulls. I think he's been handy, two wickets and 50 runs. He's been lively and given a bit of a hurry up to some batsmen.

If Skelly was atrocious, why couldnt two class players put him to the sword a bit more playing on a batting paradise? I didnt say he was good, said he was decent. It was hard to get wickets on that pitch and he want at 3.38 an over against Steve Smith and KP. I still class it as decent, but its all just opinions anyway. I think Floros offers much more though so dont know why they picked Skelly.

Also agree about Konstas - he just looks very unsure of himself. Just watched the starty of the second innings and he didnt look good at all.

Konstas is just trying to do too much. Just bat kid and stop moving around at the crease so much. It is great you can do the ramps and things but lets get the basics right and build a foundation that you can be a test match cricketer.

Yes!

Lead 106.

Now for the Blues to not bat till 5pm. Get 200 in front and give Bulls 15 overs.
