[quote="mick!":1eaqruca]IMO Luke is up there with Ennis and Farah as the best #9's in the game. Moronic decision by Taylor.

Where is the Cam Smith love?[/quote:1eaqruca]

Sorry - Smith, Ennis and Farah. IMO they're the top 3 by a fair way.

And ouf of those 3, Cam Smith is light years ahead of the other two.

Different sorts of players though. IMO Cam Smith is the best organisational half in the game, but when it comes to sniffing out cheeky metres, wrongfooting the defence and making gaps behind the ruck, Ennis and Farah leave him for dead.

I have it Smith then Farah and then daylight, Ennis showed some quality last year but it was one season and he also should himself to be selfish quite often. I think by years end De Gois will be the games clear no.3, I think the Knights will have a big year.

When you think about it, IMO the rake is the position where we are blessed with the most talent in the comp. Even more than fullback.

Smith, de Gois, Ennis, Farah, Luke... and even past that there's the likes of Friend, Fien, Ballin and Wing. Plenty of great talent.

I agree you also look at kids like Friend at the Rorters and Iosefa at Penrith. You also forgot to mention Payne, Henderson or Priddis who are also quality players.

Who will they have playing Lock? I would have thought

6. Wing
7. Sandow
9. Luke
13. Sutton

would have been the best option. :S

Your 100% right Alec, that is there best option. However, if Taylor is telling Luke he's not in the plans then fark knows who will play lock when in reality Sutton is an incredible talent at lock but mediocre as a 6.

I don't think Luke is an 80 minute player but has to start at hooker and I think Wing's best position is easily 14 as the utility hooker/halve.

Loz! What a legend.

As for Sutton's replacement at lock, didn't they have some young player make an impact there last year for a few games but I may have been completely imagining it.

Matt Mundine will be a chance to play 13 after they poached him from the Dragons. Was in the Youth Comp team of the year.

He's talented but he seemed to be carrying a lot of excess weight when I saw him play last year.

I also noticed they picked up Garrett Crossman, he was solid for the Storm so it's a good buy.

Been watching Matt Mundine in the under20s the last two weeks and he definately has some talent there but I don't think his fitness is up to first grade level just yet. We went to cronulla today to watch them play and they walked right in front of us and he is a biiiiig boy. He sure can kick though!

I saw them training today, they looked alright on the training paddock, if only they could work together like that on the field, they may just do some good.
