idk about that, he had some good games after that(like the Cowboys one especially) but he got reinjured so there wasn't many.
Yeah that is fair, it also helps when the team is going well too, but at the same time it does feel like Madge is using him in a role that is way different to what he was used under Kevvie and at this stage it doesn't look good.He was way below his 2023 levels. The injuries didnt help him at all last year, but i still think he lost some of the confidence that made him so entertaining. I do think Origin last year took a lot out of him physically and mentally.
I couldn't say it's the coaches fault for Reeces performance tonight. The bad passes, panicked decision making and general mistakes have been going on all of last year in many games. He just didn't do anything special tonight to paper over the cracks.I fucking hope Madge adjusts how he uses Walsh, because he was basically detached from most attacking plays which hasn't been the case basically since he came here.
He was sitting in the middle for most of the game like a stooge, granted once he got more ball it all went to shit but I see coaching decisions here for what happened for his lack of involvement in most of that game.
Not to mention in the Halves it was basically all tilted towards Reyno with little Hunt involvement, if you got two 7s you need to share the load more.

His mistakes are too many and he doesn't seem to be improving on them.
Nearly won us a GF but Cost us a GF doing exactly the same stuff. He is still so young and we need his talent but that shit tonight was hard to watch.
I admire your loyalty. But Edwards, Ponga, Turbo, Papenhuyzen are all upgrades at this stage of his career. Even Tedesco at a push.Walsh had a bad game and it happens the best of the fullbacks. I still wouldn't trade him for anyone and I'm sure he'll had a blinder next week at home.
Way too early to say that, I think if Walsh is used correctly he is in the argument if not the best, his '23 stats had basically unseen playmaking stats seen since Locky was at FB.I admire your loyalty. That's why I said "at this stage of his career". No one doubts his playmaking ability when he's on. But he's no where near the defending ability or consistency to be considered the best.Way too early to say that, I think if Walsh is used correctly he is in the argument if not the best, his '23 stats had basically unseen playmaking stats seen since Locky was at FB.
I'm not saying that, but let's remember this is 2 games we are basing it on.That's why I said "at this stage of his career". No one doubts his playmaking ability when he's on. But he's no where near the defending ability or consistency to be considered the best.
And if one season of attacking stats is enough to catapult someone into the best ever conversation, surely Jarryd Hayne is right up there?
