I just wish he could be more consistent, we all do. You look at someone like Dylan Edwards, if he's not getting involved in tries you will find him running for 200 metres a game. If Walsh isn't setting up tries or beating defenders with his speed, he's not really a factor. Other fullbacks make contributions even when it's not particularly their night.

I think we are looking at the Rugby League version of Glenn Maxwell. If it's his night, look out. If it's not, tuck the bat under the arm and better luck next time.

you can't really compare the 29 year old, 4 time premiership winner Dylan Edwards, who has had plenty of stability with his coach to a 22 year old Reece Walsh who has only played 1 finals series and is on to his 4th head coach

Confidence player who is going through a rough patch and instead of going into his shell, he compensates by trying too hard, which makes things worse.

He will be ok, but he definitely needs to think run first instead of always looking to play-make, and needs to get involved earlier than 4th tackle wide spreads. It's become so predictable and when the defence rushes up to get in his face he doesn't have the composure (yet) to pull the trigger on the right option, or to execute it in the split second of time he has. Defences have adjusted to his style of play, and now he needs to adjust too.

With his speed, he just needs to get himself around the ball. Focus on support play up the middle, sniffing for those new Haas offloads and playing into space off the back off our halves, rather than trying to do everything himself.

He's a livewire who can punish any team in broken play and can capitalise on momentum and a fast PTB like nobody else... What he's not is a half who can take on a set defensive line and create opportunities for those around him - yet he continues to want to play as the latter

We had a heap of offloads in the first game, and attempted a few against the Raiders. And yet the ones that didn't end up as errors went to people standing flat-footed, with no plan. That is where Walsh should be, trailing Carrigan and Haas. Every time. Just being there will have defenders having to loiter around the ruck to try to neutralise offloads (resulting in less time for them to get back the 10) and if one does go to Walsh it's the perfect time for him to wreak havoc.

4 different coaches, probably all wanted him to do certain things their way and the team doing different things. Then there's Billy to throw in the mix too.
There was something last year that came out about Walters and Slater wanting him doing different things.

Walsh was never really ready for origin especially after that panthers game. Now every outside back can’t wait to have a go at smashing him and he knows this which is why he’s always pulling up.

Good point... definitely not enough urgency to keep pushing from the inside... Payne walking the entire time is not a good look from someone in the leadership group, at least Kobe kept his feet moving the whole time and actually had to run around Payne to get closer to Kris by the time he got to the tryline

Hoping it's something to do with Ramadan that's making Payne sloppy instead of being burnt out.

I know how to fix this...get Slater to come out in the media and say he's considering Ponga due to the form he's in. See what happens.

Does he need to come out and say it? If billy doesn't pick Ponga he's a clown. In much, much better form and his overall game is much more well rounded compared to Reece.
