The Brisbane Broncos have been the talk of the NRL world as the 2023 Grand Finalist sensationally missed the finals just a year later.

With an upcoming club review and the future of coach Kevvie Walters called into question, 2025 looms as a massive year for the Broncos.

Brisbane’s massive injury toll was a big factor in the side’s disappointing showing this year but several below-par performances in winnable games have left the vocal fanbase with plenty of concerns going forward.

The club’s inspirational captain Adam Reynolds opened up on how the club plans to bounce back in the 2025 season, starting with an internal review.

“We sat down and reviewed the season, we had a questionnaire amongst the whole team about things we want to improve on and get better at as a team,” Reynolds said on SEN 1170 Mower’s Club.

“I think it was a good way of doing it, it gives everyone a voice, it gives us something to focus on moving forward.

“As preseason approaches, that’s when I’ll sit down with a couple of senior boys, we’ll get on the same page and move in the same direction.”

When reflecting on what went wrong, Reynolds pointed to a number of factors including injuries and a reduced preseason.

“It’s a hard one, a lot of injuries and what now played a part,” Reynolds added. “We had a shorter preseason which is not ideal… there’s a lot of expectations.

“Probably just getting on top of it sooner, recognising that the season wasn't going the way that we liked, just trying to put a stop to it earlier.

“Late in the season, it’s a bit too late to try and catch up and change the way that things are going.

“Obviously pretty disappointed the way it finished, it gives us a great opportunity for a bigger preseason next year and hopefully we’ll come back and do something great.”

Brisbane finished the 2024 season in 12th place on 26 points, falling two wins short of contending for a finals spot.

Any review has to include two conclusions.

1. Get this side in an army camp and flog them. Teach them some resilience.

2. Bring in someone that will drill getting the basics right first and building the attack off the back of that.

3. We need to recruit a hard nut forward and a metre eating winger.

If the club doesn't identify those things Its failed.

Id be sending a message out to the affiliates to send your back rowers and outside backs/wingers for train and trials.
Set a challenge for the trials for the wingers whoever makes the most hard yard metres with least mistakes gets the jersey round 1, doesn't matter how much talent you have, We want the hardest workers.
Put Mariner, Cobbo, Arthars up against some competition for their spots.
