Roosters set to release Mason as they Circle SBW

Well they need to do something, and Wing could only be good for them.

They won't get SBW. It would just get ugly trying ot get SBW. It wouldn't be worth the trouble. Why would he come back anyway?

Mason - Had two good years, 04 and 06 was it? Devastating when he's on his game but his consistency is ridiculous.

Why would any club want to sign SBW anyway... no seriously signing someone who did a midnight runner to france halfway through a contract.... Yeah would definitely want to spend 500k on someone like that.

I'm finding it very hard to believe that this isn't a gee-up. When I have a look at the structure and grammar of the article, it doesn't appear to be written by a journalist.

"Recently Mason was photographed taking a leak outside an Eastern Suburbs nightclub..."
A leak? Not urinating in public? Not relieving himself? A leak... Crude at best.

Then this...

"According to people at the Sheaf in Double Bay on Saturday night, who witnessed Mason and Roosters forward Nick Kouparitsas partying following their 38-18 loss against Manly Mason was apparently telling people that he's Life Member at the Bulldogs, which that isn't the case."

Which that isn't the case... Who writes or talks like that?

Anyway aside from that the whole premise is completely ridiculous, he is banned for however long from playing RL in Australia, and you have this unqualified buffoon suggesting Gallop is going to go back on that? I think not.

uji

Matthew O'Neil isn't a journalist, just thinks he is.

Myles re-signed for the roosters.
Quote "It's a great place to be at, at the moment."
LOL!

Not to mention that he spent more than half of his RL career warming the bench.

The controversial career of Mason is poised to fade away in the Land of the Rising Sun with Brad Fittler last week giving the 115kg behemoth permission to negotiate with Japanese rugby clubs.

This pretty much confirms that he is going. Seriously, contracts mean shit these days.
Well if both parties agree I don't see anything wrong?
Contracts are still a contract, just ask SBW had to pay 800k out of his wallet when he tried to break his contract ;)

Lol. Contracts still mean something broncosil. If both parties agree to move on, then that's a contract in itself.

Mason, ta-ta. Don't usually like seeing players leave for rah rah, but you're such a non-event that I don't particularly care. RL won't be any worse off for your departure.

I think broncosil is more meaning commitment means nothing these days. ie, "I'm going to play for you for 3 years"....actually, no, I'm done after 1.5.

Same reason religious whack jobs whinge about the divorce rate.
Just like a release from a playing contract, a divorce (and property settlement/custody agreement) is a contract between two people to break the **** up. LOL

the talking about him possibly earning 900k a season in Japan... IMO, any Japanese RU exec, that offers that over-rated hack 900k a season needs to get FIRED immediately

That is what I meant. Sorry I wasn't really clear.

Mason wanted to go first and most teams know that there is no point keeping a player who won't be happy there, particuarly if they aren't playing well. Just seems to me that if you make a committment to play at a club then you should honour it.

Well he's got a point, a lot of players don't actually fulfil the "commitment" but neither do the cubs.
