Solid first half there, played within ourselves, when the opportunities presented, took full advantage of them. The field is already cut up heaps. I've no problem playing wihtin oursleves here. Fancy stuff not needed.

I can think of three reasons

1) take time off the clock when you're already in the lead
2) Give the forwards a breather
3) No need to show your whole hand against a bunch of scrubs. Leave some plays in the pocket for the dangerous teams

Will give you 1. But taking the two actually makes ur forward do more work. Yes they get 1 minute breather but then there trying to bring it out our own end again getting bashed. Forward don’t do much in attacking 20 . More decoy runs and short passes

And ttaking the 2 nearly backfired on us just lucky roosters were terrible that half.

We worked our way into the game well. Great ball control and we haven’t really lost a grip on the game even with the roosters scoring an early try.

More of the same in the second half. Fingers crossed the first half possession and the heavy conditions catch up with the roosters and we go on with it.
