Why the **** did i we watch nrl360...?
I got what i deserved......

Oh well...

Stupid is .. as stupid does....

Anasta after them talking about the Broncos and Madge with no quotes from anyone.

"The story just won't go away..."

****...I wonder why? It's a genuine mystery.

Note: I haven't caught more than 5mins of that trash this year but I remember what they were like when they have a narrative to push

Not one of them on any show will address the fact that Payne has said they need to move to Sydney for his family, that some personal and private things happened in the last few weeks and he needed to make this decision for them. This proves it has nothing to do with Madge or The Broncos but they just act like he never said it.

One thing I will say is if you want to see what someone devoid of a backbone looks like go and watch Matty and Cronk from this week. The get to the Haas subject and Cronk starts to launch into a speech about how it’s Maguires fault and he can’t be at a club long term blah blah blah but Matty continues on from introducing the subject to say there seems to be a determination from the media to blame Madge for this and then laughs and immediately Cronk changes his point to stop having a go at Madge, what a little bitch.

I just don't see why the media see it as such a surprise.

He's been hinting for years about leaving the club but wanted to win a premiership with the club first.

It's the first halves that worry me about how we go this season. We had a fantastic run to the grand final at the backend with how we finished games but there were a lot of games there where we made the job far harder then it needed to be in the first half. Address that and we can beat anyone.

Oh and if we could keep our spine together and fit that would be great.
Speaking of spine staying together, how often did our first choice spine play together last year?

I asked last season whether we had enough quality depth in our 2nd row.

Reading the team list on Tuesday a year later, I feel like asking the same question again. WIth the usual suspect already injured again..
I was pleased when I saw how many 2nd rowers we had for train and trial, so at least we know Madge has the same concerns. I thought Luke Gale looked solid in those trials, but is he a step up from Gosiewski, Tawha or even Junt? Bryce to me looks like he's got the skills and a good footy brain but just looks too small for NRL, for now anyway.

With our current squad, 11. Gos 12. Riki & 17. Tawha is... well, it's what we got. But I really hope Madge has:
1) Popped Shibs into the 2nd row in an opposed session just to see how he'd go. He looks like he'd hold his own at least.
And
2) Told the recruiting people to ring some agents.

A guy on SEN this morning summed it all up perfectly. I can't remember exactly what he said but he basically just repeated everything that's been said in here about agendas and wannabe celebs posing as sports journalists. Was great.

Re the whole Madge, Haas stuff obviously.

I did laugh when I saw a you tube clip from NRL 360, praising the Storm for how hard they've worked in the pre-season.

Yet when it comes to Madge, he works people too hard and is too intense

After the Dogs Dragons game a player(can't remember exactly who might have been Burton) from the Dogs was interviewed and he was praising the hard work the coaching staff had put them through in the offseason and the commentators were agreeing.

The Broncos are the most supported club in Australia, which puts the media in a tricky position. Because our fan base is so large, anything written about us gets attention. Clearly, negative coverage will generate the most engagement. That is, Broncos fans will react defensively, rivals will pile on, and everyone clicks, comments, and argues. It’s guaranteed traffic for journos who are otherwise too brain dead to write anything worthy of serious consideration.

If the media runs glowing, positive stories, the effect is obviously so much weaker. Broncos supporters simply nod along, while the rest of the competition’s fans get irritated or switch off. There’s no controversy, and therefore less engagement. So from a purely commercial standpoint, criticism and 'manufactured' drama about us make more sense to these mentally challenged clowns.

Therefore, we will always be the easy target. We're not necessarily attacked because what we are doing deserves more scrutiny, but because attacking us keeps the whole rugby league audience emotionally invested.

The sooner some of you realise this, the sooner you'll see the pointless charade that shows like 360 are producing are akin to a wet fart in a space suit.

More importantly, if we all stop engaging with their nonsense the journos' masters will realise that they need to change tack and produce something worthy of watching to increase viewership.

Seems like it's not a tricky situation for them at all... if people keep clicking and engaging they'll keep manufacturing.

I would be interested to see how their views are stacking up with so many podcasts around nowadays.

I probably only listen to Levels at this point, because all the others have joined the ragebait pandering to NSW audiences

Who was this?

Until the season really gets going too much of sports journalism is psychoanalysis of people they aren't talking to, done by people who aren't psychologists. 'Payne Haas hates the Broncos and will tank us as revenge'... Cheers mate, appreciate you working hard on the tea leaves to divine this valuable insight
