Solid in defence to keep the scoreline that close to be honest. Penrith had enough ball to win by 40.

Our attack is the real concern. We didn't fire a shot. And our second row is practically useless. How quiet Walsh was is the biggest mystery. He did not look confident at all. We had ONE linebreak for the game. That is an effort problem as much as it is anything else.
 
Defence was pretty impressive actually. Which if you’re only going to get half the game correct at the start of the year, defence is better than attack.

Discipline was diabolical. Attack non-existent

I stuck through some shit losses but had to turn this one off. They have played the worst footy I’ve seen in a long time. Glad we broke the premiership drought because I think it’ll be a while before we get another.
 
Said in the pre game thread I thought the WCC would bite us in the ass.
Someone tell me why we put so much into that game? We look so far off where we were last year.

Not good, but not worried.

No team since 2016 has played in the stupid pointless WCC and then come back to win round 1.

It’s a long season and we will get it together, but we were absolute rubbish tonight. Way too many errors. Shockers from Staggs, Gos and Riki and playmakers totally missing as we got dominated all over the park. Second row depth definitely concerning.

Not that it matters because we didn’t deserve to win, but of course refereeing and bunker in mid-season form already

Worst part of the whole thing was having to listen to Cronk whinge about how he ‘expected more’ from us

At least footy is back and no major injuries. Looking forward to Parra having 50 put on them in back-to-back games next week.
 
Well.......that was an utter garbage start to a season, not totally unexpected with the pre-season we've had tho.

The boys should be better next week after the run, but man.........that was ugly.

I absolutely hate performances like that at home in front of a big crowd.

Jetski gone.
Rocket up the entire spine and Staggs, they were all pathetic.
No way hunt can play 80.
Back five to spend 10hrs a day (each) catching high balls.
Mozer in, and if he can’t get a run then I have no doubt he will be asking for a release shortly, especially considering there is no B.Walters out there.

Payne the only one that can hold his head high.

Our worse completion rate since 2017 🤯
