Not too fussed about the loss.

We are a much better team than the score indicates.

Positives are our fitness, and resolve. We kept putting in regardless of the scoreline.; that's character.

Everything went Penriths way.

Our errors, and lack of field position took the toll.

Take the lesson and move on. We will be a much better team for that reality check.

Rusty performance, but I liked the effort. Big bounce back.

It wasn't as bad as it looked - we just couldn't hold the damn ball. Hustled in defence, really good effort at times. Just nothing went our way.

3 of their tries were just junk tries. Still count unfortunately. As soon as the draw came out and the WCC was set for England I was like yeah f**k round one.

We'll be better for the run. There were too many basic errors and poor options, but Round 1 off a very short pre-season.
Can we give Like Gale a run in the 11, he looked solid in the trials and could be given a simple role.
I do feel for Gos though, he wasn't 100% and it showed.
Basic ball skills and catching contested bombs must be drilled this week.
That bunker official can't be on duty next week - you can't have the whole world know it's a knock on and then call it back. Reminded me of Koroisau in an Origin game. Given old mate's shocker last night they may be short of button pushers.

Missing Piakura more than we think, that jetski is shit and needs to be dropped. Also we have the greatest hooker of all time saying Mozer can be great and we leave him in cup.

He hasn't played since July and in between that the Broncos won a Grand Final, not many coaches in history that don't start with their Grand Final side.

Can’t win without the ball and between errors & penalties/set restarts we didn’t even give ourselves a shot. Doesn’t make it any easier when the bunker cant, or they refuse, to acknowledge a ball went forward from Penrith.

Even bloody Gus was saying how bad that call was ... That's when you know it's a really disgraceful call.

No wonder Annesley stopped doing the Monday review with calls that bad

uff that was rough, last year I would've been, let's just say, slightly upset over a game like that.
Tonight while I did mumble "hold on to the fu#king ball" about 18 times, after the siren I went an rewatched highlights from last year's finals. It's truly amazing at how hearing the Viking Clap die mid stroke twice, watching Cleary unable to count to 5 in the last set during a Prelimary Final and Headgear Riki catching that pass does to mellow a loss like that.

There are things to work on, like too many Captains out there, ball control and discipline, but I liked what I saw from our Goal line defense. Thought that was a big improvement over last year.

Hopefully that was the trial we badly needed. Fix our ball control and we probably would have won that. Well Adam Gee was the ref so then again probably not.

Panthers targeted Walsh with Edwards' and Cleary's runs, Edwards kept targeting that area between three and four in which engaged Walsh then they'd go as far left as they could and score in the corner with Walsh coming across.

Cleary made him tackle under the posts running straight at him and then they went left.

Teams do a similar thing to Lattrell when he's at fullback.

Worst part of this loss is I have watched every skerrick of information about our GF win and now I don’t have a little bit more

The real tragedy of the evening was having to sit on a train home for forty minutes at the nexus point of half a dozen of the stinkiest human beings I've ever come across.

Only way is up. I never thought we’d win this game and was mostly ok with the effort. Execution was atrocious and Penrith were always going to turn up for this and we were always going to struggle.

They did that in a canter really and will get better themselves, so that’s scary but so will we.

But man those ‘not’ knock ons were hilarious. How can a bloke watching replays make such a bad decision, twice? It’s blatant incompetence.

That said, I think after the Dragons stupidity last week, refs are probably gun shy to take reviews off teams in case they need them later and well, look at the dumb result.

Surely there are better refs out there, surely picking some toothless one eyed fan off the street wouldn’t even be worse.

Rough watch for round 1. Penrith with the early shifting of the ball was working wonders for them coming out of their end. Jensen playing the first 20 and not coming back on was certainly a choice.

Yep if that wasn't shit it will do until we get some.
WCC was a useless exercise. 3 trials would have been better.
Defence and effort were good but no continuity of ball .
I actually walked out in disgust 10 mins early.
I've long maintained Staggs is the barometer for our team when he is shit we are shit.
Paix just hasn't got any deception at dummy half, he can't keep the markers honest. Hopefully Mozer puts a case forward in the next few weeks.

The lads playing cup now with a chance to give Madge a decision to make and start forcing their way into the premiership side. Its a tough gig to get into the comp winning side so they need to show up now.

We wanna see Mozer, Anderson, Arthars, Hunt and co absolutely show why they should be picked.
