Round 1 Teams

When you've got someone as crap as burns at 5/8 you chuck Coote there.

Move Gordon to fullback, and Coote to 5/8th. This way you kill two birds with one stone - get rid of Burns (LOL Player), and have their best fullback play fullback. It still leaves their team pretty shitty, but it's a start.

Don't forget Gordon is coming back from an ACL, perhaps they're giving him some game time on the wing to ease him back into things.

2 years ago Coote was the top try scorer from fullback and the next best thing at fullback, lots of comparisons to Slater etc etc. It's easy to forget these things when they're off the park.

Eels, Panthers & Tigers backline looks the weakest to me. I really don't understand all the favouritism for the Tigers!?!

That's a good question mrslong.

Despite playing poorly over the last couple of seasons, they've somehow finished inside the Top 4. With a stronger and more experienced forward pack coupled with a rejuvenated backline it's clear to see why fans expect the Tigers to improve.

But will they? I personally think it's gut check time for the Tigers. They're no longer the team hiding under the radar, their players are starting to get recognised and the representative season is going to take it's toll on them. It wouldn't come as a shock to me to see Farah, Lawrence & Galloway selected for the Blues, maybe even more depending on whether some of their younger players play out of their skin/Ricky starts trippin' balls.

I kind of get the feeling is do or die for the Tigers this season. Ellis is on the outer & Tuqiri is likely to follow, salaries are rising and some of their stars aren't getting any younger.

Rock - A Souths fan (may have been Twitzid) made a good point about the Farrell selection. Basically, the idea was that, McGuire wanted a playmaking fullback to compensate for the rookie halfback and running five eigth. Merritt maybe more lethal at fullback than Farrell but he wouldn't be able to spread the ball as smoothly to guys like King or Inglis.

Swap Ryan and Utai for Tuqiri and Reddy, and it would be a pretty awesome backline.

Look we all know the Tigers are no chance.

The Roosters have picked an atrocious backline Mini is past it, Perrett is mediocre at his best same goes for Carney and BJ is a second rower playing centre plus Anasta is far more suited to lock and his best days are gone plus Pearce is overrated as hell.y pick for spoon by ages

De Blin to start for the Dragons.. Hopefully he can be a cash cow in Supercoach.

I never said it. IMO Merritt is only on the wing because he is playing with a broken toe. They don't want him doing too much work at the back and just do his role on the wing and coming into a revolving full back role in attack, like he did in the All Stars match. Basically let Farrell do the hard yards because he didn't do too bad a job during the Charity Shield. I just hope the move works.
