I got diagnosed with compartment syndrome in my calf years ago, was recommended that I get surgery but didn't (long story short the diagnosing doctor was 50/50 on it and turns out it was a different muscle issue). But the fact I wasn't raced to the ER means compartment syndrome can be anything from really mild (trouble running on it) to life-threatening.

When I first heard it was compartment syndrome I was naively thinking it would be similar recovery time to what I was given, maybe 1-2 months... but his was clearly right up the severe/acute end. Just glad he's okay.

I felt that way too. Pieter Stef Du Toit the Springbok took a year to come back when he experienced it in his thigh. Crazy that up to 2020 there were only 43 examples have been recorded in medical literature. That's just how rare it is.

I know we are meant to keep off googling, but it's a bit interesting (and ****ing shit)

I watched a VLOG of a Pommie guy mountain bike racing in Sth America .
He had a no big deal crash and ended up with compartment syndrome .

Yeah, I am pretty sure I heard somewhere that Ben Hunt has started slowly training again.
But yeah, smoke and mirrors I think too.

Not a fan of JUNT being dropped though. I thought he played really well when he came in. Madge mustn't like something about his style or movement. At least he hasn't gone back to JGOS. And PRiki can play 2nd row anyway.

Hopefully Karapani is fit enough to play by Friday. CODE Sports were talking it up like he wasn't a chance to play, but they did that with Mariner this time last week too, then got injured by something completely different in game.

And in terms of JGos and Talty starting prop again, I feel like Madge will be asking them to redeem themselves against a not as strong Manly pack in terms of controlling that opening 20minutes. About the same size pack as ours. They were definitely heavily fatigued by the end of that Penrith game.

Broncos fitness must be pretty good considering how many packs are bigger than us, and we seem to get better as the game goes on.

It’s the best we’ve got at the moment. How many more debuts do we have in us lol Hope this team is ready for a really tough game, especially at Manly’s home. Yuck.

I also cry a little inside when I see Gos’ name.

Their pack is pretty big compared to ours.

Paseka is a monster
Haumole is a monster on the edge
TKO is old but still big

Brown is back and will run it back 100 mph

Only small ones are Jurbo, but he's just there to cut blokes in half... and Bullemore, but he's as wide as he is tall and he has quick feet
