POST GAME [Round 10, 2026] - Broncos vs Sea Eagles

I do think one positive out of last night was Verhoeven. He is way too raw and hasn’t grown into his body yet sure. He also made mistakes but definitely wasn’t alone. Yet he made a pretty decent line break, scored and was the only back to actually make metres. He isn’t ready just yet but you can see what is waiting when he is.

Yeah we're missing players but I still don't think this team is playing 6 again footy. Even at full strength we don't generate any kind of momentum in the ruck, we just rely on the individual brilliance of our forwards and outside backs making runs after receiving the ball flat footed.

What concerns me is that our best game in years was the Canterbury game, completed at 95%, defended well, gave them nothing. Maybe in hindsight the defensive effort wasn't as good because Canterbury just can't score at the moment but none the less..

We get some key players back and we go back to not completing sets and making errors.

With the size of our forward pack, one out hit ups is asking for a beating. We get absolutely monstered and driven back on the regular. Paix never running out of dummy half makes it so much worse too.

Hated everything about that game. It was torturous and I was fuming. For my own health sake, I turned it off.

1 thing I reckon should happen is, the bye to come soon enough. The squad needs a fcukin break.
I don’t even want to think about our next game against the Wahs. If we take last night’s game as our peak performance with the given squad, Wahs will slaughter us.

I don't understand how we can worked over in the ruck every match but our opposition gets fast play the balls at will.
Every team against us has impeccable ball control, incredible line speed and highly professional discipline. To add to that, last night manly missed like 8 tackles. We can’t even get out of our 40 most sets.

I’m baffled at this since our game against Cowgirls. How in the world the Cowgirls, Rotters & now Manly were able to do what they did but not us? Agree they all are at full strength and we could barely make numbers but our blokes who are the defending premiers can’t do a shit about it.

Just on last nights game, it is as much as MM’s fault as it is the squads. He got it all wrong from the get go by starting BHunt & PRiki and there was never going back from those 2 mistakes from MM. He should own them which, I think he will and plan accordingly.

I think Mam is getting a bit too much shit put on him about the forward passes. Willison doesn't know how to run a proper line and is infront of him every time.

We played like absolute shit but what a baffling coaching performance. I get we have a mountain of injuries so pickings are slim but that side could have been put together so much better. Ezra also needs some time in cup or something, I'm not sure. He's a far better player than he's been showing lately.

As has been said, the biggest one is absolutely Hunt starting with Duffy on the bench. If he wanted to start the game to see how it went, fine (although I don't agree) but it clearly wasn't working and leaving the change until 20mins to go was dumb and not fair on Duffy at all. Just a very dumb coaching performance for mine.

It's because our line speed sucks and therefore we can never dominate a tackle. It's just gets worse from there.

In attack, we're missing all our usual hard runners that can make us metres or break the line: Hass, Piakura, Staggs, Mariner... the substitutes are getting monstered every run (or in Walsh's case last night, not running at all).

Injuries have finally caught up with us. And we just couldn’t do anything right .
I mean take
Staggs
Mariner
Anderson
Reyno
Hass
Walters
Jensen
Piakura
Out of this side and we are bound to struggle….
I mean we have jetski at prop ffs …
