Now we're in that stage of the season where every NRL club is being dragged to their grounds each week, told to play and the quality of the competition diminishes greatly. Even as somebody who can watch the Ron Massey Cup, I find it tough to get up for rounds like these but we do what we've got to do.

The Rabbitohs kick us off at ANZ against Parramatta. The last time these two teams faced off, it was the Eels who pulled off the upset defeating the Rabbits 29-16. It was a good performance by the Eels but a lot has changed since. The inexperience of the Eels has crept up on them and while I believe they're capable of some great football they're also making a lot of mistakes which a team like Souths will appreciate.

On the other hand, the Rabbitohs are a completely different side without Reynolds. As much as Inglis, Walker and the Burgi bring to the fold, it's the controlled kicking game by Reynolds that puts it altogether and they've really been missing his contribution as he's been away. I don't think they'll get a better opportunity to prove they can win without him than tonight but they're going to have to play tough and beat the Eels with their defence. Once they win the battle for field position, they can throw some caution to the wind, pop some offloads and work through some set plays. I believe the in-field kick for McQueen is the goer tonight, I hope they look for it.

Can you believe the reigning premiers only contribute 1 player to Origin? Not sure a Premier has ever made such a small contribution to the Origin arena.

Wests only supplied one player through out the entire 2006 series: Brett Hodgson. Even then, he was merely there because Minichiello was unavailable.

Manly only had two players selected for Game I 2009. They were actually my original guess since I remember them getting off to a terrible start and being annoyed that they were able to recover during the Origin period. Of course they ended up supplying Watmough, Stewart and Williams for Game II.

But yeah, I can believe that because 3 of their best players are Pom, another a Kiwi, another a New Queens Waler (or whatever Keary is) and the rest are struggling with injury.

Johnston was the only player in with a shot and he can count himself unlucky to be omitted for Tupou and Hopoate.

Brett Hodgson was the best selection NSW made that series.

I think this round will be pretty easy in tipping.

Rabbitohs
Tigers
Raiders
Broncos

$4.50 for Eels to beat Rabbitohs..

I was leaning towards Rabbitohs because they are still a strong side, but with those odds I'm going to put $50 on Eels.

If our forwards don't lift their game, we'll lose. Otherwise, if they at least sort of match them, we'll win IMO.

Raiders
Knights

Not confident at all in a couple of them, wouldn't be surprised if there's a few upsets this weekend.

Sandow at fullback. Interesting.

Wow.. That was easy.

Sutton puts a grubber through and Gray races through and scores with ease.. It was like a training run.

Where was Sandow?

Ben Lowe off for a concussion I believe.

Souths down to 16 men for the rest of the game.
