It seems to be a common occurrence lately with refs saying one thing and then pulling it back for something else. I can’t remember a season where you hear play on called only for the ref to suddenly change his mind

As good as Payne can be, its games like this that seperate him from the likes of Webcke and Petero. He might make bigger meters and be a better athlete, but he needs to take it to the opposition forwards in games like this. He's more than capable, he just needs to fire up.
