COMPLETE [Round 12, 2023] Broncos vs Panthers

I think it will be the big plays that get us trys here, the tigers example doesn't apply it's a dry field, think what souths did, with the huge plays at the end to crack the panthers line.

They defend far to well for conventional play.

Oh well it’s only 8-0 but we need to be first to score to get back into and gain some momentum, our defence has been good we just need to close in when they spread it. Who thinks we have a chance ??

He lifted his arm off the ground short of the line and promoted the ball. The fact that momentum would’ve taken him into the in goal shouldn’t factor into the decision.

Momentum wouldn't have taken him into the goal... he promotes the footy just onto the try line before being pushed into touch

We all saw it, some if us don’t think it was a double movement.

Just because he lifted his arm, doesn’t mean his momentum stopped.
yeah, but look where the ball is before he lifted it, that part of the body wasn't near the line, he promoted it while a player was holding him.

his kicks are mostly miles away from the goal line though.
Yep, and when he is close to the line he normally kicks them dead for a 7 tackle set.

Sorry, but I have seen nothing at all from him. He isn’t a 7’s blurter.

We're getting gang tackled because we're not following the Briers method of running with support. Hopefully we were just going one-out to conserve energy because we were gassed, and we reset and start again in the 2nd half. We survived without Haas since the 28th minute so he has had a big rest. Carrigan will need a spell so a fresh Haas can now come back on and put us on the front foot.

Walsh too busy thinking about what he has to do to get an origin spot and forgot about playing the game tonight.

Whats the ban for pushing an official? He's get 5 or 6 games for that in Superleague

That ruling has changed this year.

They judge now on the overall momentum. You can promote the ball if you are still moving and unfortunately for us he was.

Here's another subjective opinion about the double movement rule in general, with the arm and the ball in contact with the ground then friction is increased. That slows the player down, does it give the defender move time to get their arm under the ball or even provide just that much friction they stop short of the line if they didn't promote the ball?

It's a dumb interpretation of the rule and they should go back to the black and white interpretation.

Pats been a workhorse. I just wish we would bring him off a bit earlier.
