We just really desperately need a break.
Every team above us except for the Roosters and below us have had a bye already

Just another thing we’ve had to try and endure

Maybe because they wear aqua 🤔 we thought we were playing the ladies and didn't want to hurt them.

Broncos always the gentlemen!

....correction I meant genitals ....
We played like a bag of dicks.

We had a great opportunity to finish the round in the top 4. Unfortunately dropped down to 6th.

It just feels like we’re a bit cocky at the moment. We know we’re a good team but aren’t working hard enough particularly in defence to be a great team. The willingness to be the hardest working team in the comp is what we need.

Agreed though I wonder whether we might see a whole different side to this time post-origin. We did last year and I suspect we might just be happy to rack up some wins until the business end of the season. The team is definitely playing well within itself.

That is the vibe I am getting but injuries have made our attitude towards the season much worse. Our defence didn't really turn the corner until after Origin last year either. Although it was much better due to us having less injuries and betted edges

Quite a serve from Denan Kemp. He's particularly harsh on Karapani, saying his passing game isn't NRL standard:

There was certainly one pass that was.......horrible.
I can't recall any others(?)

Yeah, and that was so comically bad he'll spend the rest of his career being bagged about it. I'm willing to give him another game, but on the wing.

I was critical of him first month in Cup but the second month was a lot better, but I said several times that playing on the wing for the Bears is living in a false economy. Just stand out there on the paint, wait for Rogers or Patatson to give you the ball with not a soul around.

Certainly, improved his running/ground making but there are gaps in his game.

Turns out no you can't get away with it in NRL!

I like the way he moves across the ground with the ball in his hands.

Seems to be common with the younger generation of players coming through. Unbelievably talented athletes....but some lack the very basic of footy skills.
Passing ...its not that hard. Remember the "pass the ball" competitions on the footy shows.
I had a large tyre strung up in my back yard as a kid and practised passing the ball through it for hours.....

I'm wondering, did you ever get to play a game with a large tyre as first receiver?

Honestly makes me feel sick
Do the players even care
We are crazy to resign Walsh, he is the most expensive liability in the history of the NRL

Bunker ruled the ball had been ‘released’
Whether we agree or not is a different story
But the rule was applied correctly
LOL. What?

Were you running after gassing yourself out with 2 or three guys looking to push you over a side line ? As you passed through the tyre ?
He stumbled with his feet and lost his balance . Then had no base to throw the pass . Can happen .

He`s been in NRL systems 3 or 4 years I reckon he has had some skills coaching .

As a half...I was generally first receiver.

Yes...as an 11yr old, I would put myself through quite a few different scenarios, and passing off balance was one of them.

I'm not really having a go at Karapani....I think he has loads of potential. But, I think my point stands for a lot of the next gen footballers. Some do lack the very basic of footy skills.

Age appropriately sized footballs have revolutionised junior football .
Now each age level has a different sized footy till they get to about U / 13 - U/ 14s .
They get coached to hold the ball in one hand and fend with the other also switching the arm they carry in to allow for offloads .
The modern balls are so different to ones from 30 - 40 years ago . Synthetic materials with dimples like a basket ball def make the ball easier to hang on to as well as throw long spiral passes .
I guess some kids get by on athleticism till they get older . Possibly missing out on the amount of drills that less gifted kids do to be competitive ?
