PRE-GAME Round 13 - Dragons vs Broncos

Cobbo actually does back up pretty well, he won't against Dragons most likely because he's on the wing and Isaako sucks at it. Just going off highlights and the couple of games televised Cobbos defence and urgency is one of his most promising attributes to his game.

He has some good ball playing too, he might not have try assists on his stats but that's only because his hands weren't the last to touch the ball. Has created a few with passes to his outside men and had a few line breaks that resulted in tries.
I guess we saw different highlights. I'm in Germany, so it's hard to watch the live full games. But in the majority of highlights he seems to be hanging back. Though it does seem to be following him making a break.

Tass can play now, his form hasn't been good enough. He is settling down now but I think you'd see a different player if he wasn't at Souths- who has the same form as him hot and cold. Starting to run well- breaks tackles but doesn't break the line.

Paix is the big improver of the ISC, he is getting better. His body shape has changed over the last 12 months. He's had a run now at hooker playing six games in a row which is the most he's ever played in 24 games. The try he scored against the Hunters showed me he can now judge and go and make an impact. His stamina has improved too. He's consistently getting through more than half the game.

Hetherington isn't a hooker and should never be there again. I was never sold on him there but lock I love it. The two boys are the same just tough players and find a way to get a result. The ball bounces for him because they put themselves in that position. I would even consider getting Zac too. Both great runners of the ball.

Bullemor is a great bench player and he should be getting 30 minutes or so, you'd see results and he'd change games if he was used at NRL level like he has been in ISC. So quick reacting and smart.

Piakura has been injured with a shoulder, came back and I have been luke warm on his form. Showed against Souths with Gamble with him what he can do but he is still finding his feet. Smith has put him back to the bench- he hasn't played now in a month. Off the bench against the Bears he came on and tried really hard in a side getting beaten like they stole something. While Souths was his best running game the Bears were his best dig in game and try and help out a bit. He did that well.

Cobbo I have written about a lot, I don't see a lazy player at all I just see a player that doesn't understand the little things about fullback yet. Which is ok he's six games into his career. He runs and beats tackles which is what he's been doing since he was six. He can kick goals too- he did in MM and played centre at the Falcons so he is versatile in different roles.
Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean to imply Cobbo was lazy, simply that he's not doing the 1%ers, which is the problem we've had for a while with our backs. That's why I'm concerned.

I appreciate the points about Bully, I'm actually impressed with him. Paix came in and went out of the top side very fast, so that was odd to me.

Would you also share an opinion on Hoeter?

Holy ****.

We’re so bad these last few years, I can barely find the motivation to walk from my kitchen to my lounge room to watch the tripe we dish up. Meanwhile, you’re watching this shit at some ungodly hour via some obscure streaming service on the other side of the world.

Hats off to you.

Ha, actually it's quite conveniently at midday and we're still suffering lockdown conditions, so home office or weekend. Still hard to watch.

I have quit my watchNRL subscription due to what I Believe to be manipulation and an unhealthy attitude in the excessive fox media. I think they've done a lot of damage to the sport since Corona and while it was one of the few things I took joy from, it has now come to me essentially quitting the game. I still am an avid fan of the Broncos, and I think I understand the game very well, but I can't in good faith pay those people money for this product. Money is all they understand, so they'll get none from me. I really think we will miraculously come good in 2024 after Brisbane 2.0 steals the fairweather fans and Reynolds may get a fairytale gf win.

I think it's very wrong what they have done for the mental health of the young Broncos. There was IMO blatant manipulation last year, and the psychological damage is still present. Sooooo while I Care how we go, I think it's an uphill battle in a game where the arbiters change the rules to suit the narrative.

I love watching Herbie and Staggs. Haas would be God if he found some speed in the PTB or an offload.

Put it this way, no other player who is 1 mill a season cops it like Milford has, you barely hear about Ash Taylor these days.
Because nobody else on a million dollars doesn't try. Hunt tries his heart out every week, Taylor has improved dramatically this year. Milford looks like he doesn't give a shit
