When you give young people lots and lots of money most of them will party with it. I’ve said earlier he has lost a yard or 3 of pace since ‘23 which really shouldn’t be happening at his age. I think he might be partying too hard, still in celebration mode from last year or something.

I wouldn't put a line through Ezra at all. A few cup games for him to find his feet again. And he has had that hip/hamstring strapped or very weak since the start of the year, so I doubt he is 100%.

And the whole "giving a lot of players money" is redundant here. What he did for us last year especially again Cleary and Warbrick in the finals was huge. And you can see he is trying his arse off, always run chasing too line breaks from opposition too, which is an effort area. He obviously gives a ****. He just isn't 100% and needs to find his prime again in QCUP. And fix up his defense and ball playing back to last year's standard.

I'd like to see Ezra used off the bench at hooker. Can tackle well enough when he's in the middle of the ground and might start running a bit.

Honestly, not a bad shout. If we are nit picking, I'd probably choose him over Bunt as bench hooker. You really aren't losing much between the two, especially because if Reyno goes down, you have Duffy to play 7. and if Duffy goes down, you have Mam to play 6. Since we know for a fact Hunt cannot play 6 with Reyno. And then I'd have Rogers in the 18/19 jersey as our hooker/lock/half backup. With Hayze as our back 5 backup. So much more efficient. You'd then have Talty, Semu, JGos (When JRiki is back) on bench.

But in saying all this, I am stoked on Duffy getting his shot at starting. Put in great work against Cows. He was great for us against the Roosters, literally the only reason we got a sniff in the last 30 minutes. And was disappointed he didn't get to start over Ben Hunt against Manly.

Hopefully, he stays as a first-choice half. Takes on a lot of creativity that Reyno has been missing, and that Mam hasn't been able to produce without a knock on or the set ending in a changeover. It does help that Bunt doesn't need to be as creative out of dummy half or lock. Bunt just needs to make his tackles as a hooker or lock.

To go with our other 5 hookers ..
Thats why ive said get rid of him and free up the money. Whats the point of finding a position he's probably going to suck at just, to keep him around. We are in desperate need of new faces.

Big call by Madge.
Not really. He's missed the most tackles in the NRL this season. He can point to that.

Dropping Reyno or Paix would be harder.

Paix, for example, is playing 80, making tons of tackles, not dropping the ball, not giving away penalties, not throwing stupid passes. If Madge wants him to run it, he would tell him to run it. He's clearly not. But everyone can see we need more than what he's bringing.

Meanwhile, Reyno isn't doing anything wrong in particular, other than being past his prime. The hard truth is we should never have extended him. But here we are.

The best thing that could happen right how is for Reyno to retire and Hunt go to 7.

In attack, Reynolds hasn’t been much better than mam. If his kicking isn’t on song then what else is he offering? Doesn’t seem to link well with Walsh.
Reynolds does that awesome move where he runs across field at 4 km/h, 1 handed dummying to the same 2 or 3 people before passing it out the back to walsh. Or to mix it up, he doesnt pass it to walsh and other team has a geriatric intercept it and score a try

I did not rate Ezra at all last year. Maybe the odd game but he was awful for most of it

About time Mam paid a price.
Unfortunately he strikes me as an ask for a release, more than a fight to earn my way back kind of guy.
Let’s see how this goes.

After the club stood by him during the car crash, if he pulls this shit then goodbye, thanks for the premiership.

I think the problem is that while Reynolds is clearly past it now, you can’t really drop a dude who is a legend of the game and retiring. He’s put the club between a rock and a hard place, so Mam is the easier option.

Paix I think is helped by the fact he can defend and the three guys who could take his place are either injured or just back from injury, so this buys him time.

Dave Fifita says hi.
