POST GAME Round 14 - Raiders vs Broncos

glad I didnt watch this.....in fact I was pretty close to my guess of the final result.....

One positive from last night's game was we seemed to have learned how not to give away needless 6 agains. i don't know the stats but we were winning the count 7 to 1 at one point. But this somehow did not translate into us being less fatigued?

He is under contract for years, why the **** do people keep saying this.
I wonder if it has anything to do with players getting out of contracts early all the time.
Kinda like Milf did when he came to us for example.
Or like when SBW left for Union.
Or when Boyd left the Knights to come back Broncos.
Or Mitchell Moses leaving the Tigers.
Or when Val Holmes went to NFL.

Just to name a few examples of players leaving contracts early.
Why the **** dont people remember this.

Edit: In most cases, when a player isn't happy and wants an early release, they get it.

It all starts with a drop in intensity and focus. This then leads us to lose momentum and we struggle to get it back and then fatigue sets in. We always come out after half time with no intensity and we are fucked.

Croft's missed tackle was the start of the rot as he just lost focus for a split second. Canberra then got momentum and it was game over. We have no steel or ability to keep intensity and focus.

You guys that allow the club to ream you with memberships "rolling over"... grow a spine and tell the club to go **** themselves.
Dearden, Turpin, Haas, Carrigan, Staggs and Farnworth. 6 players out of 17 that I'm happy to keep. The rest can be shipped the **** off as far as I'm concerned, and frankly that is disgustingly bad roster management. Peter Nolan should never have a gig in sport again, seriously.

Turpin's getting a bit of a reputation about him, that amount of injuries already into his career is a bit of a worry.

He needs some Milk!

Look at the constant themes coming out of our post games:

Winger coming in - coaching
Staggs can’t read defense - coaching
No leadership - management / players / coaching
Over paid under performing players - management / players
No structure - coaching
No resolve - players
No fitness - coaching
No accountability - management / coaching
Giving Up - players / coaching
No discipline - coaching / players
No meaning in the jersey anymore - players / coaching

Notice the themes? This rot is now engrained but removing the whole coaching team and the deadwood players is an absolute must

It's going to look like that when we do 4 hit ups and then kick. We have nothing in attack all close to the line and flat footed.
38-8 looks even worse when possession was 50/50 and our completion percentage was slightly better.

It’s becoming painfully obvious the reason our season from hell is continuing unabated is those responsible don’t know how to fix it.
We have staffing problems.

We have shown we are competitive for the 1st 40 minutes with the top sides. So for mine, it's the specific kind of coaching we need right now targeting the specific glaring weaknesses - Morale and defence. This club is paralysed. Doing nothing is the absolute worst option. Bringing in a new head coach won't solve these problems unless he also immediately brings in those specialists we need to focus on what are, for mine, those 2 most obvious weaknesses.

And give Gamble the 6. Croft is out of his depth. Can't handle any pressure. Let Dearden and Gamble develop some combinations. Stick with the same spine.

More a failure to appoint the right staff a few weeks ago, to address the bleeding obvious, at least in the short term.

The thing is, there are four glaring issues that won't do much this season but are absolute musts for next season:

New strength and conditioning team - this will solve the issue with injuries and players being unfit
New head coach - at the very least someone who can man manage
New assistant coaches - absolute priority being a defensive coach who knows what he is doing and can implement a structure and identify the issues with individuals such as Staggs, Haas and the retreating defensive line

These are the keys. If these current coaches and trainers remain in place, no incoming or outgoing signings will mean anything.
