POST GAME [Round 15, 2023] Broncos vs Knights

Annesley was critical of the officials.

He felt Reece Walsh should have been sin-binned for being deliberately off-side at the scrum.

Wow, I had to watch it after that. Annesley wants sin bins to be based on time of the game, field position and game situation. That's bullshit of the highest order. The contrasting example was Mitch Moses in lastnight's game offside at the scrum on the hooter of half time, blocking a Burton kick upfield. Annesley is happy for Moses not to be binned because the game situation is totally different to Walsh's.

While that's true...it's just another grey area and opportunity to manufacture (desired?) results. If a discretion is a sin bin, then bin the player. You cannot bin someone for something in one game but then not bin a guy for precisely the same thing in the next game because 'the game situation was different'. No, **** off, EVERY game is different!! THIS is the shit why fans are up in arms. It's black and white, don't make it grey!!

Also, if THAT is what Annesley picks out of that game as the worst refereeing blunder...the game is beyond hope. Deadset that first half was atrocious. Broncos have copped some of the worst refereeing all year, Warriors too.

I'll let the rest of you guys be the judge on whether Butler did a good job, but has there ever been a sin-bin for being deliberately off-side at the scrum? As far as I know, it's always been a penalty with an option to re-pack and if they foul again, then it's a sin-bin.

I think being able to pack the scrum in the middle is a farce and has been since day one. Teams have always been off-side because they're so difficult to defend. That's another rule that needs to be changed especially since you rarely see them outside of a team making an error.

If this **** wit is wondering why refs cop abuse, he should watch his own reviews.

Why do I need to watch games to see things that happen off the field? You really didn’t think that one through did you champ. Try not to bump your head in your day to day life from now on mate.

Who gives a flying fiddler's **** what they do off the field?

So long as they win games of footy, who cares?

Oh yeah, you do. Because you can't afford a $20 monthly subscription to Kayo.

Anyone who thinks the refs aren't encouraged to be game managers can just watch that video. Get rid of the discretionary penalties or make them all discretionary and explain each call after the game.

Annesley being critical of the ref, means that for once they did a decent job
To put this in perspective, I went and watched an under 16 div 4 game on Sunday and the young ref in that game, late teens, did a better job in my view than a number of NRL refs I have watched this season who have the benefit (so-called) of the bunker and technology.

A gf berth is the only thing I’ll consider a pass mark from kevvie this year, or if I’m feeling generous later a prelim maybe. If he wants to go the way he has with team selections. Will also consider it a major fail if we lose haas, we need to do everything to keep that unit. Especially with flegler leaving.
A gf is your pass mark?? That's ridiculous. Pass mark is a top 8 finish, outperforming is a top 4 finish and star status is making it to the GF

A Badel and @McHunt nudey run would break the BroncosHQ server.
You could make it a three legged race, they are apparently joined at the hip after all.
