Travis Meyn has written an article saying that Walsh should be released to play against the Rabbitohs as he is 18th man and there is no guarantee he'll even take the field for QLD.

Meyn said that he could be released to play for us and rejoin camp maroon on Friday where he would still have 6 days turn around to get ready for origin which is more than the usual NRL minimum of 5 day turn around.

Slater has confirmed however that Walsh will not be released
Meyn out here trying to create new rules... does he realise that 18th man actually suits up in origin now 🤔

So confirmed outs:
1. Walsh
3. Staggs
4. Shibasaki
5. Mariner
6. Difference
8. Jensen
10. Haas
11. Piakura *possibly*
12. Riki
13. Carrigan
15. Semu
Verhoeven (I think)
Hoeter
Te Kura

So we have 16 of the top 30 available (maybe 17)

So basically, we have to run out:
1. Perham
2. Karapani
3. Arthars
4. Anderson
5. Poates
6. Duffy
7. Reynolds
8. Piki
9. Paix
10. Talty
11. Gosiewski
12. Junt
13. Willison

14. Bunt
15. Francis
16. Gale
17. Bryce
18. Mozer
19. Mam

Bottom line is, I think both Francis especially and probably Bryce have to debut, we have no one else left, especially if Piakura is out too.

What did Duffy do to get dropped so quickly

- Result was not ideal but there were a lot of positives out of the weekend, obviously not included the result
- It was a step in the right direction but still not ideal
- There were moments where we didn't capitalise, like defense on some of their tries and our work with the ball
- Its never ideal when you lose players but gives opportunities to others
- I think Qld made the right decision picking Walsh, we all know what he can do and he will be dangerous if he gets on the field
- Walsh has earned that jersey because of what he has done in the past
- He is under the microscope but we love what Reece does week in, week out
- Its easy for the critics out there and for them to pause the screen and see he should have done this or that but they aren't there in the heat of the moment and probably wouldn't even manage to make that opportunity
- Ezra will be fine, there were a lot of great things without that last play, without him we probably wouldn't even have had that opportunity
- Arrow is an old boy, I've got great memories with him and its a big week for us and Souths and this kind of contribution (having his number on the jersey) is great - this is a nice touch - both teams will have his number and name on the jersey
- We are feeling the pressure, we want to get wins and not losses and we understand it is frustrating for fans, it is frustrating for us too
- Nothing there between players and coach, we back the coach, that's all just outside noise
- We love each others' company, we stick solid through the tough times
- Payne spoke from his heart and he's right, it wasn't acceptable
- Maguire doesn't need to change his approach at all, same questions came up next year
- We got beaten by the Dragons and a couple of teams we were expected to beat last year too
- We've got to be at out best every week and you need to respect the Titans and what they did last week, they probably beat most teams the way they played last week
- Listening to the critics doesn't help, we just have to keep working hard and we just have to do this and believe it will turn
- My form has been alright I suppose, you can write what you want about that
- As long as I'm doing my job for the team, I feel alright
- We just have to keep turning up, where we are on the ladder doesn't matter, we just have to keep trying to find consistency

The camp was on the Gold Coast.

However, he's nowhere near match fitness. I believe he's been bulking up in prep for the camp. He was listed at 130kg.
If he's 130kg he would be too heavy for NRL.

Not disagreeing that the Tits were better than usual but I just don't agree with this at all.

Look at some of our misses in the middle that led to tries, look at some of the chances we didn't capitalise on due to stupidity or no support.

Look at the try Jetski gave up.

They were better than usual, but cmon.

This is Souths' 'game for Jai' - we are so screwed.

Nice touch from us though:

14-19 are the 6 man bench. Only #20 gets released.

Its obvious Slater wants him there if we need some spark with 15 to go or something.

Isn’t it just great having Origin in the middle of the season? Fark me.

I mean - best fun from a viewing fan experience
If they hold it after the season is done then it becomes similar to the wcc. Waste of time with every player out of form. Even the shittiest of shitty teams can win.
