Origin affected rounds are the bane of the NRL's existence. Last week produced some quality games of football including Dogs/Sea Eagles, Knights/Storm & to an extent Cowboys/Dragons yet here we are with a bunch of match ups which lack the emotion they should have.

Roosters/Dogs could have been a potential MotY but now it appears to be a cakewalk for the Dogs. Once again, Hasler benefits from Origin.

And the rest of the matches are just meh really. Tigers/Raiders could be the worst match of the year, Rabbits should be too classy for a reeling Eels outfit and the Titans/Storm game lacks the potential it would have.

Yeah origin weeks just ruin the NRL. Seriously, 4 low quality games is all you get.

Some would argue it's better than nothing.

But honestly, I'd rather we received nothing.

Or that it was a representative weekend with an U/20s Origin, QRL vs. NSW Cup series and a Kiwi Test series inbetween.

I'd argue nothing is much better... We have two byes, might as well start the season a week earlier and have all byes in the 3 rounds preceding origin.

On the brightside, this round does allow teams to showcase players of the future.

I'm interested to see how Dylan Napa, Ben Hampton (Queenslanders), Sami Saulima and Tom Burgess adapt to first grade.
